The Toronto Blue Jays go for the series win over the San Francisco Giants today after taking Friday's series opener, 4-0.
My Blue Jays predictions note that the Giants strike out a lot and struggle even more when facing a lefty on the mound, which has me eyeing Eric Lauer’s strikeout market.

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Lauer lays down the law
Eric Lauer Over 5.0 strikeouts (+105 at BetVictor)
The San Francisco Giants have struggled hitting lefties this season, and are being struck out at an alarming rate.
San Fran owns the worst batting average in the league against LHP (.213), and have struck out in 25% of their at-bats, the fifth most in baseball this season. That number grows even larger if you take a look at their July numbers, with a 30.6% strikeout rate vs. left-handers, which ranks 28th in baseball.
This bodes well for Toronto Blue Jays left-handed starter, Eric Lauer, who has been a pleasant surprise this season in the Jays rotation. Lauer sports a 4-2 record with a 2.78 ERA and a 26.4% strikeout rate, which ranks him in the 78th percentile in all of baseball.
Lauer’s strikeout total is set at 5.0 this afternoon, a number he’s surpassed in back-to-back games and has hit in four of his last five outings, averaging six Ks per start.
The Giants are one of the worst fastball hitting teams in the majors, which won't be fun against Lauer, who has an effective four-seamer that he uses 46% of the time with an impressive .192 xBA while accounting for 47% of his 55 strikeouts this season.
Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)
Eric Lauer Over 5.5 strikeouts
Eric Lauer Under 2.5 earned runs allowed
Addison Barger Over 1.5 total bases
Let's continue to back Lauer and take the Under on his earned runs total (2.5). He’s gone Under this number in six of his eight starts this season.
Addison Barger has an .861 OPS against RHP this season with 30 extra-base hits. Giants right-hander Logan Webb has given up 6+ hits in five straight outings and has allowed more power to left-handed hitters than righties. Advantage "Bam Bam" Barger.
