Tipico Sportsbook is open for business in the Hawkeye State.
Through a partnership with the Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf, Tipico announced yesterday that it's now live in its fourth U.S. state, with approval from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission, offering mobile-only legal sports betting.
"We are thrilled to grow our footprint and give Iowa customers access to our propriety product and competitive offering," Tipico USA CEO Adrian Vella said. "Iowa bettors will be able to use a very simple product with fast deposits and withdrawals, experience cutting edge functionality in live betting, SGP+ with wide coverage on player props, and can cash out anytime — including partial cash out capabilities.
"To top it off, Tipico's functionality is run from within the U.S. with customer service based in New Jersey."
Sports betting in Iowa offers plenty of competition for Tipico, which has 20 operators powering retail and online sports betting sites... but only reported more than $200 million in statewide handle in each of the last four months.
Prior to Tipico, the SuperBook was the most recent operator to join the Iowa fray, setting up shop in the Hawkeye State in late October, but what truly makes Iowa a challenge for newcomers is the dominance that FanDuel and DraftKings have in the state.
Moving into the Midwest
This is the second big move into the Midwest for Tipico this month.
The sportsbook was part of the initial launch of Ohio sports betting when that state opened legal sports betting on January 1. Tipico has also been partnered with Gannett since July 2021 to be the exclusive sports betting and iGaming provider for the USA TODAY Sports Media Network.
Tipico, which also operates in Colorado too, is offering new customers in Iowa up to a $250 deposit match.
