Prediction markets are all about liquidity, and another federally regulated exchange is trying to make it easier to move money on and off its platform.
- ProphetX and EDGE Markets are partnering to offer eligible users fee-free, real-time deposits of up to $1 million per day.
- The partnership aims to reduce delays that could slow down active traders.
- The deal comes ahead of football season, when ProphetX will look to boost trading volume, and amid the ongoing legal challenges facing prediction markets.
ProphetX and EDGE Markets, a financial services company focused on alternative market products (like prediction markets), announced a partnership Tuesday that will enable 24/7 real-time deposits via the latter's EDGE Boost banking product.
Eligible users will have a daily deposit limit of $1 million with no fees.
“The introduction of EDGE Boost into the ProphetX funding rails gives eligible users access to daily deposit limits of up to $1 million, real-time fund movement with no banking-hour restrictions, and a dedicated bank account that separates trading capital from everyday finances,” a press release explained.
EDGE Markets has similar partnerships with Kalshi and Polymarket, and its latest deal with ProphetX highlights the importance of funding methods in the fast-moving world of prediction markets.

Prediction markets require both a buyer seeking a trade and a seller willing to take the other side (a model that ProphetX CEO Dean Sisun has urged the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to preserve). That makes readily available capital important for both traders and exchanges.
“FDIC-insured deposit accounts, real-time fund movement, and higher funding limits, all things critical infrastructure for our active traders as this market matures," Sisun said in Tuesday’s release.
Less friction, more funding
Other funding methods can have lower transaction limits and may involve delays or fees, according to the release. That could prove irritating or uneconomic for traders and market makers trying to place or fill orders as quickly as possible.
“The ability to move significant capital onto ProphetX in real time addresses one of the most persistent friction points for active traders,” the release notes. “Nights, weekends, and live market events are exactly when the traditional banking system creates delays.”
Tuesday’s announcement also comes at an important time for prediction markets. Regular-season football is near, which will be a crucial test for a “sports-native prediction market” such as ProphetX. Ensuring traders can fund their accounts with ease will be key to driving volume onto the platform.

There are no guarantees that prediction markets will have another football season either. The exchanges are facing a mountain of legal challenges aimed at their sports event contracts, the trading of which many state-level gambling regulators see as sports betting by another name.
It’s unclear where the courts will ultimately land on the legality of sports prediction markets. For now, though, they remain broadly accessible in the U.S., with the exception of three states: Michigan, Nevada, and Washington.

Fun with funding
EDGE Markets recently closed a $29-million Series A funding round “to accelerate the buildout of its institutional and consumer banking products across prediction markets,” the release notes.
The company is using this money to roll out “high throughput deposit accounts” for market makers across all CFTC-regulated exchanges. The product is called EDGE Pro, and it is awaiting further regulatory approvals.
Also announced was EDGE Connect, “the industry's first purpose-built payment rail, engineered specifically for the regulated gaming and prediction market ecosystems.”
EDGE Markets said Tuesday that its partnership with ProphetX will bring EDGE Connect to the prediction market platform.
Furthermore, the company said it has now processed more than $2 billion in transactions since launching EDGE Boost in 2025. The “purpose-built debit card account” is insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for up to $250,000.
“The most active traders are no different from sophisticated participants in any other vertical: They need fast, reliable access to their capital on their schedule, not the bank's,” EDGE CEO Seni Thomas said in the release. “Reaching the traders who are already moving serious capital on prediction markets is how EDGE Boost becomes the default financial platform for this space, and ProphetX gets us there.”
