The Philadelphia Eagles making an early NFL playoff exit wasn’t enough to stop New Jersey sportsbooks from exceeding $1 billion monthly handle. However, year-over-year revenue saw a 6.5% drop.
Key Takeaways

The 10.7% hold percentage from completed events was in line with results in December. The Garden State filled its coffers with $23.9 million from sports wagering taxes.

FanDuel, DraftKings continue to dominate
| Online Operator | January 2026 Revenue | January 2025 Revenue |
|---|---|---|
| FanDuel | $45.6 million | $53.1 million |
| DraftKings | $30.6 million | $35.6 million |
| BetFanatics | $10.9 million | $6.7 million |
| BetMGM | $7.6 million | $7.4 million |
| bet365 | $7.3 million | $4.8 million |
The calendar might have flipped to 2026, but the New Jersey sports betting revenue story continues to show a clear separation between the top two operators and the rest of the market. FanDuel was once again the biggest revenue generator, reporting $45.6 million for January. DraftKings claimed the No. 2 spot with $30.6 million. However, both operators saw a 14.1% decrease from January 2025.
FanDuel was coming off a strong year in which it earned $470.1 million. That was more than $144 million more than runner-up DraftKings Casino ($325.3 million). The two operators are showing a similar trend in the latest numbers as they accounted for nearly 68% of the total sports betting revenue in New Jersey in January. BetFanatics, with $10.9 million, was the only other brand to clear $10 million. The result represents a 61% year-over-year performance.
Bet365 also enjoyed a strong January as its $7.3 million is a 51.5% improvement from the previous January.
Contribution to total gaming revenue picture
Online and retail sportsbooks helped the Garden State achieve a 5.9% increase in total gaming revenue. The $586.4 million also includes slots and table games revenue from Atlantic City’s nine casinos along with iGaming revenue.
Land-based casino win was flat with a slight 1.6% increase. Online casinos were the biggest contributors to the overall revenue pie, earning $258.9 million. That number, however, was not enough to top the all-time monthly record of $273.2 million from December.
The common denominator between iGaming and sports betting is that FanDuel and DraftKings have a firm grip on the top two spots. FanDuel Casino earned $58.9 million for January, an 18.5% increase. DraftKings Casino took in $48.6 million for a 10.3% jump
