FanDuel announced on Wednesday plans to bring its sports betting and casino products to Alberta ahead of the Canadian province’s July 13 regulatory iGaming launch.

The top market-share gaming operator in North America is expanding into its second province, pending regulatory approval.
FanDuel is currently on the regulator Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis (AGLC) list of licensed operators and plans to be among the first gaming platforms to become available on opening day.

Early registration
Pre-registration for Alberta sports betting is already underway at FanDuel Canada, where Alberta residents aged 18 and older can create an account ahead of next week’s launch.
“The FanDuel Casino and Sportsbook app offers a trusted, responsible and best-in-class platform with features for both new and experienced casino players and sports bettors,” the company said in a release.
The operator will also offer a full sportsbook with popular markets and parlays on leagues like the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL. Betting on the FIFA World Cup will be prominently displayed heading into next week’s semifinals and final, scheduled for post-launch in Alberta.

North American leader
FanDuel has operated in Ontario, the only other Canadian province with a regulatory framework, since April 2022. FanDuel recently renewed its partnership as the official sportsbook of the Canadian Football League through a multi-year agreement, first created in 2023.
“As part of the renewed partnership, FanDuel will expand beyond Ontario to include Alberta and add Casino as a new category, bringing fans closer to the game than ever before,” FanDuel said.
In the U.S., FanDuel offers sports betting in 24 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.
The online casino product operates in five states, while FanDuel also has a prediction market platform, a horse racing app, and a daily fantasy sports site. The Flutter-owned iGaming leader generated $1.14 billion in revenue during the first quarter of 2026, the most of any U.S. operator.
Community support
FanDuel also announced Wednesday that the company is donating $50,000 to the A Dollar A Day Foundation, which helps fund mental health programs in Alberta.
“Over the past three years, FanDuel has been a proud supporter of A Dollar A Day, contributing $150,000 to deliver support to mental health organizations across Ontario and Alberta,” the company said.
FanDuel also is donating $30,000 to the Canada Red Cross Emergency Management Program as part of its investment in the province. The operator is also the title sponsor for the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament, which has raised more than $1.3 million for the Calgary Stampede Foundation. This year’s charity poker event, presented by FanDuel, raised $260,000, a new record for the foundation.
FanDuel was also the first-ever iGaming partner of the Cowboys Music Festival in Calgary.
