Online casino legalization spreads?
There are 30 licensed New Jersey online casinos, all of which have jurisdiction anywhere inside of the state's borders.
According to Statista, New Jersey has the third-largest casino gaming market in 2024. Its $6.3 billion in annual revenue was second only to Pennsylvania ($6.9 billion) and Nevada ($15.6 billion).
New Jersey is also one of only seven states authorizing legal online casino gaming. Three of those are represented in the top five states in 2024 casino revenue (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan).
Nearby Maine recently approved an online casino bill in its legislature and is awaiting Gov. Janet Mills’ signature of approval for it to become law. Massachusetts last Monday also opened discussions about legalizing online casinos.
