Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is not only the new Heisman favorite, he also has the shortest odds of any candidate this season.
Key Takeaways
- Sayin now has an implied 36.4% chance to win the Heisman.
 - Only four players are shorter than +1,000.
 - Gunner Stockton, Trinidad Chambliss, and Diego Pavia fell behind the leading pack.

Sayin turned in another star performance for the Buckeyes on Saturday as they took down Penn State, 38-14. Sayin went 20-for-23 for 316 yards and four touchdowns, bringing him to 2,188 yards and 23 touchdowns against three interceptions on the year, along with nation-leading marks in QBR (90.9) and completion percentage (80.7).
Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza is next in line in Heisman odds at around +225. He was much less productive last weekend, going 14-for-21 for 201 yards, two total touchdowns, and a pick in a 55-10 win over Maryland.
Alabama’s Ty Simpson, who is as low as +340 at FanDuel and as high as +450 at ESPN BET, was off for the week.
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed is the only other player with odds shorter than +1,000. FanDuel has him down at +650, while DraftKings has the best price at +850.
Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia lengthened from +800 last week to +2,500 at BetMGM following his team’s 34-31 to Texas. Pavia still had 408 yards and four total touchdowns in the defeat, although lots of his production came in the fourth quarter.
Downward movement
Public bettors will be disappointed to know that Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith Jr. is only as short as +3,300 at bet365. The standout and projected future top draft pick had been responsible for 7.7% of bets (most) and 5.5% of the money wagered in Heisman markets at BetMGM as of last week.
Georgia’s Gunner Stockton is the leader of the chasing pack with odds ranging from +1,800 to +2,500. Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss is next, having fallen from +2,000 last week to +3,500 at BetMGM.
Arch Manning, the preseason Heisman favorite, is only +25,000 despite a stellar showing against Vanderbilt.
Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love is a unanimous +4,000 at major online sportsbooks despite his 94-yard highlight run last week. Oregon's Dante Moore is +5,000 at several top sportsbooks and the only other player feasibly in the race to lead Heisman odds, as Georgia Tech’s Haynes King is next at +10,000.
