Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker bet $1 million that the Seattle Seahawks would win Super Bowl LX, and that his ex-girlfriend, Kendall Jenner, would be left in misery.

Booker and Jenner shared a back-and-forth over the former’s million-dollar bet in response to Jenner starring in Fanatics Sportsbook’s first Super Bowl ad.

Key Takeaways

  • Booker placed the bet at Fanatics, for whom Jenner starred in a Super Bowl ad.

  • Jenner claimed in the ad she made money by betting on the downfalls of her exes.

  • Booker does not have any known connection to the Seahawks or Seattle.

Booker posted a slip for a $1 million bet on the Seahawks -3.5 at -125 odds on his Instagram story on Thursday night. The bet was placed at none other than Fanatics Sportsbook.

Earlier this week, Fanatics released its new advertising campaign with Jenner called “Bet With Kendall.” The video portrayed her poking fun at the “Kardashian Kurse” and her ex-boyfriends, several of whom played in the NBA, falling on hard times after their relationship ended.

In the new ad, Jenner claimed she afforded the lavish items showcased by betting on her exes’ downfalls. One of Jenner’s exes is Booker, who missed the last few games while dealing with an ankle sprain.

“I guess nobody was getting a ring in this house,” she said about her relationship with “basketball boyfriend one.”

One of the features of Fanatics’ campaign was the opportunity for bettors to live up to the name “Bet With Kendall” by tailing her pick in-app.

With the help of a FaceTime call with Tom Brady, Jenner revealed to Jimmy Fallon and “The Tonight Show” audience on Wednesday that she was taking “the underdog” New England Patriots.

Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin later posted a video of her appearance on his Instagram, along with a $1 million slip for the Patriots moneyline at +190 odds.

Booker’s $1 million wager against Jenner

Jenner’s grand reveal on television ultimately prompted a response from Booker, who did not hold back.

“I bet a million the Seahawks get that ring before you do @kendalljenner,” Booker commented under the video posted on Rubin’s Instagram.

Jenner, seeming unimpressed, replied, “How’s the ankle?” only for Booker to retort “come rub it.”

Booker and Jenner dated from roughly April 2020 to October 2022. Despite their exchange, there is no belief that they are currently together.

Booker is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He regularly supports Detroit Lions and other Detroit sports teams but does not have any known connection to Seattle or the Seahawks.

Ducking the “Kurse” in the Super Bowl

If the “Kurse” is real, Super Bowl weekend will be a tough time for Booker. His only previous championship experience came in the 2021 NBA Finals, during his relationship with Jenner, which ended with the Suns losing in six games.

The Seahawks opened as low as -3.5 at various sportsbooks and were bet as high as -5.5. The market has settled on them as a consensus 4.5-point favorite.

Major sportsbooks have reported heavy interest in the Seahawks, although underdogs covered in five straight Super Bowls, winning four of those outright.
