Sony Open in Hawaii outright picks

Outright pick: Ben Griffin
+1600 at Fanatics

World No. 8 Ben Griffin has a pair of wins while gaining true strokes on approach in all 14 tournaments with ShotLink data, and he’s also gained true strokes across the board through the past four.

This will also be his fourth trip to Wai'alae Country Club, and the emerging star has played the weekend in each of the first three, including a T12 in 2023.

Outright pick: Kristoffer Reitan
+6600 at Fanatics

PGA Tour rookie Kristoffer Reitan finished eighth in the Race to Dubai to earn his card and has played the weekend in 21 of his past 22 events while picking up a pair of wins and another six Top 5s.

There are no glaring weaknesses in his game, and Reitan ranks 17th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and 20th in putting across his past six events.

Sony Open in Hawaii prop picks

Finishing position pick: Corey Conners Top 20
+130 at Fanatics

The Canadian posted a string of four consecutive Top 15s at the Sony from 2019 through 2023, and he’s coming in off a solo seventh in the Hero World Challenge while finishing second in true strokes gained tee-to-green and first on approach.

Pair the course history with the current form, and Corey Conners just needs a few putts to fall because there’s never a doubt about his tee-to-green game.

Finishing position pick: Eric Cole Top 20
+230 at Fanatics

The fall was good to Eric Cole. He carded a pair of Top 10s in addition to his T21 at the RSM Classic, where he finished fifth in true strokes gained on approach and 27th in putting.

Cole has also improved in consecutive appearances at the Sony, including his solo fifth last year, where he ranked fifth in true strokes gained on approach and 10th in putting. The arrow is pointing up again for the 2023 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

Sony Open in Hawaii first-round pick

Round 1 pick: Maverick McNealy Under 67.5
+100 at Fanatics

This will be the fifth competitive trip to Wai'alae Country Club for Maverick McNealy, and he’s carded a 67 or lower in nine of 16 rounds, including seven of his first eight.

While McNealy has lost true strokes on approach in each of the past two events here, I’m anticipating him flipping the script after gaining on the field in the metric in each of his past five tournaments.

Plus, he’s gained true strokes on the greens in three straight trips to the Sony Open and finished the 2025 campaign 25th in adjusted scoring average.
