The first major championship of the golf season is finally here, with all eyes on Augusta National Golf Course this week for the 2024 Masters.

A star-studded field of the world’s best will compete for the Green Jacket, and the 2024 Masters odds are headlined by World No. 1 and 2022 winner Scottie Scheffler.

Grand Slam hopeful Rory McIlroy and 2023 champ Jon Rahm are positioned just behind Scheffler, while Tiger Woods is further down the golf odds lists and five years removed from his last Masters win.

Here’s our analysis of where the odds sit on Monday, and just remember: the betting favorite hasn't worn the Green Jacket since Tiger won for a fourth time in 2005.

Because these odds are available throughout the year, it’s already a mature market by the week of the event.

Scheffler has seen his number drop considerably with a pair of wins at big-time events already this season, and reigning U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark is also trading at a much lower price following his victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Scottie Scheffler odds

The consensus betting favorite and World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler is in prime position to win his second Masters.

There's no challenger for his current tee-to-green form, so prospective bettors might be better off waiting in hopes of landing a better price in the live markets. Unfortunately, if his putts are falling early, that opportunity might never present itself.

After all, Scheffler has four consecutive Top-20 finishes and carded under-par scores in 12 of 16 competitive rounds at Augusta National.

Rory McIlroy odds

The Grand Slam chase hits Year 10, with Rory McIlroy's last major win coming at the 2014 PGA Championship. He has every shot in the bag to win this week and is coming off a respectable solo third at the Texas Open last week. Still, it’s telling that there wasn’t a major adjustment to his price.

McIlroy has four Top-5 finishes at Augusta, including a solo second following a final-round 64 in 2022. If any player at the top of the board sees a price drop, expect it to be Rory.

Jon Rahm odds

Unlike a number of his new LIV Golf pals, Rahm has actually seen his Masters odds climb despite rattling off five consecutive Top-10 finishes this season.

Perhaps, the defending champion has been far more solid than spectacular, and back-to-back Masters wins have proven incredibly difficult with Tiger the last to pull off the feat with consecutive wins in 2001 and 2002.

Still, there are no holes to poke in Rahm’s game and I anticipate him silencing any concerns about his ability to compete after joining the LIV Golf circuit in short order. No one should be surprised if the available +1,200 price is the longest we see all week.

Tiger Woods odds

Tiger Woods can break the record of consecutive cuts made at the Masters this week, and it’s hard to count him out given his combination of course knowledge and competitiveness.

There's also a cavernous gap in the available odds for the five-time Masters champ, and he’ll undoubtedly be one of the most popular players in terms of ticket count and betting handle.

It’s just that Woods has been forced to withdraw from three of his past six events, and he was only able to play 24 holes in his latest The Genesis in February. The fear of missing out shouldn’t creep into your betting portfolio.
