what a crock.....waited forever for it to start and then all of a sudden its started 5 days ago, i was on here 7 days ago and there was no mention of this starting up.....very poor!!!!

real gamblers check the site daily lol... jk man just go 4-0 for like 5 days straight and your back in it.

Yeah I agree with you. Been on the site some time, no announcement, a bunch of crap. Hey Covers you could have at least given some kind of heads up like maybe a week before the start or so. Why not this time around? Could you please give an answer? I have checked quite a bit and no mention, miss a couple of days and BAM you start the Race. What is up? I would really like to know, and I try to recommend your site to others, forget it now, and word of mouth is the best advertisement. You have dropped the ball this time around, not saying good things about your site now...

Same here ... I was checking every other day for awhile and there was nothing even resembling advance notice. Then I miss the first five days because it just started. Pretty disappointing.

I agree there wasn't much promotion leading up to this.I did however,get the message from Rizzo the day before it started.

Get over it.  Free contest.  Free money.  Would you rather have no Ultimate Race at all?  Check the site on a more regular basis.  Every 5 days obviously doesn't suffice.

The short notice is cool......problems with the site on the first day that wouldn't let me make my picks, not so much! With more notice though I would've had my picks in well in advance.....guess they want to favour the people that are on here 10 times a day, cause I usually come on once a day and can't keep up 

 

I'm here every day, but I'm playing the Streak and league contests.  Since this has been idle, I don't check it every day (especially with the NBA on hold).  I guess that's the price of actually having a life.  I like the RACE and even won a hat once.  I never got the email notice that some of you claim - that's a little fishy.  Being a week behind pretty much puts me out, but I'll give it a go.

Correction.  I did get a message.  That must be what was meant by "email".  I should check that message area more, I guess.  There's about 20 in there.

What do you expect though?  This website is poorly managed...they constantly loss clients because of it.  If they were smart at all, they would have posted when the contest would start a month in advance.  I am also pissed I missed the start of UR, but not surprised in the least.  Just an example...if I would've known when the race started, then that would guarantee covers that I would be on their website 5-10 mins a day, everyday for however long the contests lasts...it's their dumb fault.

you're a clownshoe! check the site more... bottom line. Its a gambling and sports info site, if you're not a true gambler then that is why you missed the race. everyone gets messages sent to their inbox and it was in enough time to know the race was coming and here. Im tired of hearing people complain about a free opportunity to win money.

Totally agree, I checked the ultimate race site about every 3-4 days when it wasn't going and kept seeing the Hawaii one up. Then I check it and we are already 3 days in, so I didn't want to waste my time when I am already 12 picks behind. I am not good enough at this to start 12 picks behind. But I enjoyed the Hawaii one when I started from the beginning and didn't miss a day of picks that was fun. Pretty ticked there was hardly any notice.

What does being a "true gambler" have to do with checking your covers.com inbox?  They send stuff to it all the time.  I'm on covers every day but hardly check the messages in there because they are worthless.  Previous years' URs have been announced on the Contests main page several days before they've started.  I had been going to the UR main page probably once a week but ended up missing the first day of the Race.  Oh well.  Would've been nice to have gotten further notice but it's free as you said, so I can't complain much.

you have have every used this site, you would know that the URace could begin at any time. ITS FREE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN PEOPLE NEED SPOON FED.

STOP UR BICTHING. I MISSED FIRST 3 DAYS AND I MISSED A DAY IN THE SECOND WEEK. I DID GET THE EMAIL THO. ANYWAY, IF UR A TRUE GAMBLER AND A GOOD CAPPER, YOU CAN MAKE UP THAT TIME WITH NO PROBLEM. IT'S TAKING ME A BIT, BUT IM GETTING BACK TOWARDS TOP. AND SO MANY OF THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE COMPLAINING IF YOU LOOK, STILL PICKED GAMES WHEN THEY FOUND OUT AND WENT 1-3 or 0-4 or 2-6 OR SOMETHING ELSE SHITTY AND THEN QUIT AND USES THIS AS AN EXCUSE. IF YOU WOULDA MISSED FIRST 3 DAYS AND THEN WENT ON 16-0 RUN OVER FIRST FOUR DAYS YOU DID PICK YOU WOULDNT BE COMPLAINING. AND I SAID SO MANY OF THESE PEOPLE, NOT ALL PEOPLE, BEFORE I GET A POST OF 1 or 2 people here who had good records once thy did start picking.

I did not find out till 12/31/2011... VERY POOR promotion notification. I play all the contest each day.
