I like Svitolinas game.  She is young but she is aggressive which I like.  You have to play that way to beat Serena.

I think she has a chance vs Serena today

    Any opinions?

A chance, yes, but it's such a long shot. She may catch Williams napping and take the first set, but you know a sleeping giant like Williams will wake up pissed off.

I'm staying away but if I were to bet, I would take Svitolina first set for half a unit. If she is to have any shot at winning, she has to take the first set because if she doesn't, she'd have to take sets 2 and 3 from Williams...her chances of winning drop considerably.

Serena is constantly losing first sets and still winning matches. Svitolina has to run down a lot of balls, make Serena hit extra shots and hope she's not having a great service day. If all 3 of these things happen she can win. Not likely. But not impossible. She did lose to Bencic. Who plays a bit like Svitolina.

WIth that said------> When Serena loses the first set it almost always means you should put money on her on a live bet. I think the stat was Serena 12-1 after losing the first set this year.

I will keep an eye on that. I think she probably will be at like -250 down a set and that is a 92% winner this year.

I'm not following WTA a ton, but after Serena struggles she rarely does that two matches in a row especially on hard courts. I expect a routine Serena win, but WTA is as unpredictable as there is. Good luck guys.

I've been following WTA a lot lately and Svitolina is in great form. Serena was down to -105 yesterday after losing the first set to Ivanovic on my line when I hedged against Ivanovic.... Serena is a different type of beast though, she should be able to overpower Svitolina and frustrate the young girl.

However, I could see Svitolina winning this, but I won't be throwing down on either player. I think Svitolina spread or +1.5 sets is the best bet if you take it. A small ML couldn't hurt, but again I am not taking this match.

Well an okay profit today with Dog winning the +1.5. Lopez-Mirnyi collapse in the 2nd set after being up a break. Thought one of the dogs would win dubs today, picked the wrong one obviously.

Perfect scenario for the Federer future. +600 in the Final.

Be interested to see how they set the price vs. Djokovic based on the injury today. Should be a reasonable price to hedge on hopefully.

DJoker is -116 on my line.... Make that hedge sooner than later!

Hedging on Djokovic @ -125 to win 1.0 units. If he wins, basically break even on the futures this week after investing 0.5 on Berdych & 0.5 on Federer. If Fed wins, then obviously it locks up a neat little profit. Given Djokovic's abdominal issue yesterday and just that in general he is not playing all that well, I think Federer can win today.

    8.23
    Doubles: Nestor-ERV @ -115

Make that doubles pick @ +105 instead for Nestor-ERV.

Even with the aforementioned issues about the elbow/stomach pains for Novak, he still managed to claw back from one of his stiffest competitions he of the tournament and roll in the final set. Similar to the way he pulled out the win in 5 sets against Kevin Anderson at Wimbledon before rolling through into the finals.

It feels like a similar situation as Wimbledon in which Federer destroyed Murray while Novak looked to be stumbling into the finals injured. I have a strange feeling that Novak perhaps isn't as hurt as he has shown and he may show the same flashes of brilliance we saw last month.

Agreed, which is why I hedged my futures bet. Joker is dangerous even when he's not 100%.

Nole has played 22 sets in 11 days. He is battling fatigue and injury (not to mention his poor form). He has trouble winning in Ohio (for whatever reason). He really wants to win this tournament (so there is a bit of pressure on him). Fed has owned Nole on fast hard courts of late (and this is a fast court), and he owns this tournament as well. Fed is fresher of the two and only has to win 2 sets (unlike the grand slams) so he will be ready to go the distance. Fed is looking for revenge from his loss at Wimbledon. Last time Nloe beat him in the final there, Fed won their next couple of matches. If Fed can't beat Nole today, with all that he has going for him, he'll never beat him. Did I miss anything?

Glad to see you here, EP. So SBR tossed you?

Yes, got booted from the other place for whatever reason they never gave.

I think Djokovic would have lost to any top tier player yesterday, but he was fortunate to be playing Dolgopolov who blew match points. I think a Murray or Federer finishes him off in straight sets yesterday.

Most important thing for Roger is heading into the match assuming full health for Djokovic and not wondering whether he is 100% or not. Play your game, win the match.

Im confused, you say its advantage fed because hes the fresher of the two, then you say its advantage fed because he only needs to win two sets unlike a gs. Surely if djokovic is as fatigued as he seems then it suits djoko more that its only best of 3 rather than 5
