Playing NBA 1Q

Is there any value at all to playing NBA first quarters (sides or totals), or are playing those about as close as you can get to to flipping a coin?

I have read the statement where some say "I invest, not gamble," so I am guessing NBA first quarters are bad plays, but I'm wondering if anyone has a different view.
