How will you know if a team is a homedog or home favorite?

I think this is a serious question, as simple as it sounds. 

At home the team is either FAVORED or not.  

Lots of times the home team is a favorite depending on the sport.  If the home team is on a roll, you might see them a favorite the next game.  If the road team comes in on a roll, they may be the favorite, thus making the home team an underdog.  Outside of this information, you're best bet is to wait until the lines come out.
