Stafford Rangers vs. Halifax pick (-154): 3 units

USA MLS
Chivas vs. DC United pick (-102): 5 units

While both teams are on great form, Chivas has defeated some crappy opponents while DC has beaten some really good ones. On top of that, DC United has never lost or drawn against Chivas. I think a pick is pretty good here.

hawk, been looking at the DC game myself and while I really like them to win this game but was wondering if you have any thoughts on the first half. DC at +255 for the first half seems like a gift. They have been shutting teams out only giving up 1 goal in their last seven games, while putting up 14 goals. They have scored early in the first half of all of the seven games except one and at least for games they netted multiple goals early in the first half. Also with their excptional defense I see great value in this play. Any thoughts?

I like DC as well, just wondering where you got the first half line at???
I have DC for game -102.

Whats the diff. between the ML and the Spread in a game thats even. Seems like the books are cheating themselves. Oddsmaker has DC at +185. What am I missing.

The first example you're looking at is 1st half results only BTW.

Yeah but you can get DC United @ +170 ML for the game and you paying -102. How is that smart?

Yeah but since the game is a PK the ML is the same.

Am I wrong. If you pick DC at a PK its even money. But the ML is at plus money but they only have to win also. This is the line for the game not the half.

Well the difference is that the PICK has the draw factored into the odds. If you win a PICK you get the reward at the odds stated. If the game draws, you get your money back. If you just got ML of course you'll only get it if you win; if it draws you lose.

Odds going up on DC United too. IF you haven't put your bet in, may want to let it sit for a bit and see what happens. Around +120 to +125 currently.

I gotcha. So you dont see any value in taking the ML the way they have been playing. Espically sice they havent lost or drawn with Chivas.

I think there's definitely some value in DC's increasing ML but typically, given the choices, I usually go more cautiously when I can. That's just the way I operate; +170 or above is damn tempting though.

good luck considering all but one of dc's losses this year are on the road and chivas is 7-1 at home
