so if its end 1-1 draw, it is under 2.5. even tho we have 1 more goal in extra time. (note that it is EXTRA TIME (ET) and not INJURY TIME, INJURY TIME is still within the regulation time).

My kids who play HS and COLLEGE Club Soccer tell me if games are tied after 2 halves, there will be 2 SUDDEN DEATH overtime periods meaning 1st GOAL WINS...... OR . ...And then, a   5 PLAYER shootout until a WINNER is determined

Sudden death is no longer used (or Golden Goal as it was called in soccer).
It was abolished after Euro 2004 It's now again 2 extra halves of 15 minutes play and if there is no winner after that it goes to penalty shootout which correctly is the 5 players and onwards till a winner is found.

PS: Yes I am telling you that England and Italy wont both score. 0-0 draw or 1-0 game. I hope you blow all your money on the over.

Woah, Woah, Woah, What's with the throw the toys out of the pram mentality buddy??? I was just sharing my opinion with you buddy, Considering we have all hijacked Vanzack's thread anyway, Now that we have done that we might as well share our opinions with each other buddy and I never said bet the over buddy I said there is more value in it buddy.

Lets chill out a bit more in future buddy and not be so aggressive towards others buddy, Oh wait I forgot I'm not your buddy.

Greece has great defense, and Germany probably wont give up a goal because Greece only scores on awful mistakes... ( russia game)

    2-0 Germans

Blatter just said use of tech is needed.

If the Frank Lampard goal in the last world cup didn't lead to instant replay, I don't know why this will.

    Question for you Van...

Why not bet the Czechs and Portugal to draw in regulation time (+265) instead of betting Czech +.5 with shittier odds? You are basically rooting for the same thing. You do not really think Czech Republic is going to beat Portugal in regulation time do you?

I'm sure he's aware of the fact there is a draw bet.  Judging by his bet one would beleive that he thinks the outcome may be draw but yes there is a good chance of czech's pulling one out.  Why get greedy when you can cover 2 of the 3 possible outcomes on a team that you think has a chance to win?

Sure - the Czech Rep can win in regulation today.  I think people are quickly forgetting that Portugal was about 5 minutes away from drawing with Denmark, beat a Dutch team that was forced to play outside of their system - and lost a very close game to Germany.  Im not sure what to make of that.

They still miss tons of chances.  They dont finish - and teams that dont finish well dont win for very long.

Look - Im not bashing Portugal.  They deserve to be a favorite today - just not the price they are.  I started a thread after the last group games guessing the line - and I had Portugal at +110 - and thats where I think they should be priced for the 90 mins.

The Czechs have proven to be scrappy - and after their horrendous start - which I attribute in large part to tactics and player selection - specifically not starting Hubschman - they have been very solid.  Yes - it was against Greece and Poland - but they are a team that can sit back and limit chances - and counter with speed.

My concern for Portugal is the same as it has been - that Ronaldo plays no defense which leaves acres of space in behind him - and Selassie will get to much freedom and he has already proven to be very dangerous on the flanks coming forward.

Will Ronaldo and Nani finish their chances?  (I have given up on Postiga - he is a lost cause) - if they do - Portugal are the better side and should win in 90.  I am taking my chances that this game will be closer than the public thinks - and that the line is a reaction to a couple of results for Portugal that under different circumstances could have been very different.

    Germany 1-0, maybe 2-0.

Dont see Greece doing much offensively without Karagounis, but dont see Germany doing much against Greece either.

No it is not sudden death in extra time , there are 2 , 15 minute periods and then it goes to a penalty shootout , and no the +0.5 asian handicap does not include extra time

I am a bit surprised by your Czech pick though.  I thought for sure you'd be on Portugal, who quite frankly I really like.  I think Ronaldo has awoken and is going to continue his rebirth in International games in this one.  Portugal's defense looks solid and I see them winning 1-0 or 2-0.

Looking forward to your analysis on this game as well as the other three.  I am leaning strong towards Germany -1, Italy and France at this time.

    Best to you.

    Analysis above....

If Ronaldo has awoken - he will get chances today - if he finishes they should win.  Just too expensive for me.

Other three preveiws coming soon - just hard finding the time....

    van,

czechs have gotten better throughout each game of the tourney. they will have their chances to put one in today, most likely on the counter. they had to absorb polish pressure last game, and while portugal is more potent, i think czechs are comfortable playing a similar style today.

pilar has been very good on the outside left for them and i couldnt agree more about ur assessment of selassie. id be much more confident if rosicky played but still this team is improving with or without him and they should be ready for the tactical approach ive mentioned before.

public will be all over portugal based on names alone, not on style or assessment of how these two teams will play. will join you on czech +.5, GL to us!
