Could depend on the situation in the England game as well.

Who takes first if France and England both tie?

In the future, why dont you post these things BEFORE the game starts?  Im pretty sure that would be more helpful, and also give you more credibility!

The last 9 games have had 0 draws.

    -----

The first 13 games saw only 2 teams shutout.

The last 9 games have seen 5 teams shutout.

As the tourney has worn on, early excitment has I'd guess given way to the inertia of quality starting to make itself felt, obv. combined with teams setting their stall for specific outcomes.

    -----

Group D's first 4 games saw 1st halves total 3 goals in all (incl. 2 0-0 draws), vs 2nd halves which totaled 9 goals in all.

None of the other 3 group's first 4 matches had 1st halves combining to total less than 5 goals, and no 2nd halves total more than 7 goals.

    -----

The first 16 matches from all groups saw 10 multi goal halves by individual teams (5 1st h/5 2nd h).

Since we've begun the crucial 3rd game matches (6 so far), not one single team has scored 2 goals in a single half.

Just like to point out, with 2 x 0-0 halves currently in the bank, that everyone was told to expect this via the above quote.

    Hey Van, much respect.

Game was open, then Ibra went goal of the tourney.

No doubt they sit back now and counter.

France has to lose by at least 2 goals, and Ukraine has to win, so as it stands France doesnt care if they lose, they still go through. Even if France draws, they still met Spain because England is winning.

So, you're telling me that what you speculated on had ANYTHING TO DO WITH Ibrahimovic's wondergol?  Get real man.  Sure you might be right about the result, but it had nothing to do with you reasoning.

I may be the only one backing Snafu here.. but its not that delusional.

France has a 5-1-1 record vs Spain.
Italy has beat them in 2 of the past 3 tournys. (Finals 06, GS 08)

As an Italian, I woulda rather faced France myself... but I'll take Englands lack of anything this time. Its okay. France could beat Spain. They play 9 behind the ball.

Well - that France game was really the 1st game out of 24 that I felt I got totally wrong.  It happens.  The Swedes played inspired and much differently than I thought they would, as did France.

The good news is that this sets up some great matchups - and I am in the process of pounding one of them.....

Will post soon on my quarterfinal picks.

BTW - I got destroyed on my future bets.  I only hope that most of you werent tailing back then - but the England success has lead to my failure as far as futures go.  I need to lick some wounds on these.

France fucked all of us. I had a future on them as well, but let the pounding begin for the next round. Ibra was on another level.

OK FIFA - no goal line technology needed.

Maybe ANOTHER referee on the end line would work?

Anyone who is against using technology to get calls correct in sports is an idiot. There's no other way to put it. There is absolutely no logical argument that can be made against it.

its shocking how many of those they get wrong. great play though to get it out before the ref could see it completely cross the line.

They've been doing it this way forever now and I know its important to get it right and they dont wanna slow the game down or add too much technology. But how hard is it to put an overhead angle camera and pay some guys too watch it like they do for hockey. Then if there is any doubt they can simply phone over and the guy who has the best angle which is always gonna be over head in these cases as the ball has to completely go over the line - can give his input.

Take it down pinnacle.  You are going to have to put it back up sometime.

if the ref positioned more to the right, might have seen it better. This shouldn't happen nowadays, let's see fifa react.
