I’m sure some will believe Trump’s word when he says “look at what the radical left is doing to the gas prices. But most Americans realize or will by November feel the pinch in there pockets and know exactly that is at the feet of DJT and minions for responsible! The facts areRepublicans, who claim to be the party of “fiscal responsibility” are not what they claim to be! Just look to there tallies to the national debt yet the rich do very well under their leadership? Go figure! But let’s get back to the gas ! But IMHO here is the simple math: a month ago oil cost $70 per barrel; today it costs $110 per barrel. In a month it is expected to be $150 per barrel, or more. The only reason it has gone from $70 to $150 in two months is because Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu decided they wanted to make a war on Iran and to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of all oil flows. US oil companies are reaping that windfall of a price that is $60 to $80 more per barrel without an increase in costs for oil produced in the United States.
0% of oil from the United States flows through the Strait of Hormuzz, but 100% of US crude sells on world markets. So, because Netanyahu took his dog Trump for a walk to start a war with Iran, the cost of all oil has skyrocketed. And American oil companies are seeing extraordinary windfalls that will be netting their stockholders tremendous returns. For me, the cost of a gallon of gas has gone from $2.86 per gallon to $3.79 per gallon in four weeks…..Hey and take one guess who’s paying the price? Go the the nearest mirror for your answer.

What were gas prices during all of 2022? How about late 2023 and into 2024? Did you already forget that you're complaining about what we've already gone through.

I'm paying $6.09 for premium in California so everyone can quit their sniveling about gas...you all act like this is a permanent thing....this is 100% a temporary thing, but go on with your whining and complaining......

Look Biden or Trump didn’t cause Covid! They didn’t cause Ukraine, They couldn’t control production cuts by OPEC and other producers! But Biden didn’t attack Iran, Trump and Israel did so to you I say …Donald Trump chose to start a war that is benefiting oil producers extraordinarily. “Pay up!” And enjoy.

Just paid a 1.80 cent a gallon NettyTrump excursion tax, actually purchased less than a full fill up given that I have not seen prices this high since the refinery pipeline disaster many years ago and even then it might not have been this high.

So why should people not be upset at this exactly? You should be upset and it does not matter if this is for one fill or two fills or three fills it is 100% unnecessary and a burden to which the US consumer gains ZERO, this is a full fledged intentional war tax that Trump could and should have avoided. People looking at their 401k should be even more mad, the market has been in the crapper since this atrocity started.

Right, because the oil production over there has so much to do with our oil here.....
So tell me, why is it that the very next day or tow after the military operation started that our gas prices went up when that gas hasn't even been depleted from the tanks at even your local gas station yet? That fuel was already processed and has zero effect on what has been refined or was currently being refined at the moment.....no reason whatsoever to raise prices like they were when one, that oil in the region has hardly any effect on the US specifically and two, the impact of it would not have been felt for at least a few weeks after.....
It's could an opportunist tax that certain industries have in which is not regulated....you know this because there is no way that gas should have risen given my example above....the gas already at your local gas station had absolutely nothing to do with the war..........future crude oil production on a global scale, ok, that is being impacted but the rise was knee jerk reaction in the early days...
And, I don't like paying it, but it's nothing new....gas prices rise and fall all the time....It's a choice and a privilege to drive and it's an expense that we pay for that privilege...I don't mad or angry when a President makes a decision to do something...I'm not mad at our current administration for the decision made and I wasn't mad at previous Presidents for the decisions they made that also caused high gas prices.....anyone acting like they are so put off by the high gas prices is most likely only doing so because of their dislike of a current administration and wishes to find blame....I don't mind a temporary increase as it is just part of the game, but if we are still at this price a year from now or two years from now then we have a problem.....I'm still not blaming the administration as they are not the ones raising the prices.....you can say their actions caused it, but they certainly did not....look at my first example above on raising prices already at your local gas station directly after the military exercise started....no reason for that, but it's allowed....oil is a crooked business....
Gas/oil is no different than any other item on the shelf....if you don't like the price you don't buy it...you move on and purchase something else or don't purchase at all...that's the choice...
I also have a choice to walk or ride a bike everywhere......that'll show em

That is always how it works, my example of the pipeline fiasco down here is the same..news came out about the pipeline and prices went up THAT DAY when in reality there is enough gas in the queue to last for a week. It will also linger for a very long time because it makes more profits for refiners and oil companies.
It is a bit poor for you to categorize this with other things, this was avoidable and unnecessary and of no value to the US consumer, this is a war tax that serves no purpose and would have better been avoided.

If you want to talk about tax on fuel then I will tell you that in California here is our fuel tax and it has zero to do with war:
California $0.612/gallon
Sales and use tax (fuel) 2.25%
When combined with the Federal tax, it is over $0.90/gallon we pay in California to buy fuel......If you are complaining at your fuel cost that are not equal to this then you really don't have much to say....and it is not poorly of me to categorize as I did and as you state, because gas is a commodity like anything else....as a consumer you don't have to purchase it or you could cut back while the prices fluctuate and go back in when they stabilize, and they will stabilize again....everyone overreacting, including the gas/oil companies and as consumers there is nothing that regulates it......why not be mad at the lack of regulation to stop the gouging?

In NJ and Sc there is a 49.1 cent tax that covers infrastructure…..so they say!
It's an absurd tax everywhere you turn....it's out of hand really, which is why everyone should be in an uproar when our tax dollars are graciously given out as part of fraud and no one does anything about it....government willing to just hand money out or aid over to people without having better systems in place to combat the fraud.....most of the tax money we pay in as citizens isn't going towards the cause it is intended for....one good example that was exploited years ago here in California was the State lottery that claimed a portion was going to schools and what not when it was a lie....It was something like 30 million that said was going to schools and did not and the reason: lack of proper oversight...interesting, because we keep hearing the same....imagine getting busted for a crime and you go to court to tell the judge or jury this happened because of lack of proper oversight....why does that work for government but not for citizens?

I guess if were to own a business I could right off my gas, repairs insurance & depreciation but unfortunately I’m a bum who has received my biweekly compensation after everyone else has taken there including my Uncle Sam ! Wouldn’t be nice if everyone who needs a car to get to there place of employment could right off those Items ? If President ran on those he would have a hard time losing !

You have to take taxation as a whole not just at the pump. Calif has some wonky property tax loopholes because you guys are able to prop vote almost anything so this creates shortfalls for the state and yet due to those props the government is handcuffed. Sure your taxes on gas are higher but some states are also high and down here we have mandated EPA formulation changes and it seems the last few years that the price for the blend does not drop off like it used to. We used to have a bump when the mixture changed then it would wear off and phase out but lately that has not been the case and the gap between the neighboring Tucson area and the metro PHX area is not changing like it did in the past. What would be a better evaluation is total taxation versus just a gas tax and you guys have a TON of freeways and roads that these taxes allegedly fund repairs and maint on.
You could have it worse too especially in property taxes, when we lived in PA the property taxes we paid vs AZ were then about 5X and I would imagine given taxes never go down that it is still the case now and people on the east coast often times have a state AND a municipal wage tax, both. I would imagine your total taxation there for all things included is not as bad as you think. California is in the top 10 for total taxation at number 4 but the the list of 3-13 are within 1.5% of each other. Hawaii and New York are the highest and are 1-2.

I suppose there are companies running that way, but I own a business and I do none of that. Any repairs, I pay for...all my gas, I pay for....insurance, I pay for....businesses do have write offs, however some take way more than they should...I guess they feel entitled or feel like they are getting worked over by the government in many other areas...Businesses do get nickle and dimed though...everywhere we turn there is a hand out looking for money....and it is really bad out here in California.....As an example, every business in California is having to pay an additional tax since COVID per employee because Newsom borrowed 20 billion from the Feds for unemployment that still hasn't been paid back....instead of the tax being owed and paid by the State government, it instead is paid by each business.....they are saying this 20 billion won't be paid until sometime in mid 2030....a joke and unnecessary tax.....California and Virgin Islands only 2 knuckleheads that are a credit reduction states.....all other States have paid back the money they owed, but not Newsom.....

I agree we have way more roadways than most, but as far as maintaining them it seems like a joke.....major roadways, sure, but city streets are awful....the question is, is that tax even going to those areas or is it being used for something else....we just never know, but according to the potholes everywhere and uneven roadways I know where it is not going....even the street our business is on is riddle with a disgusting roadway....half the street was fixed when Chick fil a was put in...I suppose they paid for the roadway to get fixed around their business or that was part of the planning....either way, nothing gets taken care of and as a consumer you would think that these things should be....that's what our tax dollars go to pay for, but are they really?
Property tax in California is no joke.....you are right, we have props that do some good, but other props make no sense sometimes...I'm sure they benefit someone, but who I never understand....things pass out here and I'm often like, no way that passed, but it did....then of course all the issues come after and people complaining that the wording on the prop was hard to understand and they thought it meant something else....it's funny, because it does feel like it's wording is intentional to mislead, but why vote for it if you are unsure....
