White House Confirms: Obama Did Nothing on Benghazi

President Obama didn’t make any phone calls the night of the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the White House said in a letter to Congress released Thursday.
President Obama made no phone calls–none, zero–on the evening of September 11, 2012, during the seven or eight hours when Americans were being murdered in Benghazi. He didn’t talk to Leon Panetta, or any military personnel, or Hillary Clinton.

In an interview that aired today, President Obama said that “if we find out that there was a big breakdown and somebody didn’t do their job” regarding the attack on the U.S. outposts in Benghazi, Libya, “then they’ll be held responsible.”

Um ok....

There were 53 deaths under bush concerning embassy attacks....

and of course that little attack in NYC.. Only about 3000 people died..

Yet you're still up in arms about this Benghazi attack...

The fact that an embassy/country is attacked isn't the question. Terrorists will always try.

What is done before, during an after should be the main concern.

Stiln's defense of Obama during the Benghazi attacks is "Embassies were attacked under Bush so it's OK that Obama did nothing."


As far as Sept 11 goes, we could have racially profiled every Muslim boarding a plane that morning, that would have prevented the attacks.

what do you think should have been done before the attack to prevent it other than get the darn out of these countries we have no business being in and which politicians were calling for that?

since it was attacked mutiple times leading up to the onslaught, one would think the embassys request for more security would have been granted.

The fact that Obama never even picked up the phone does indeed say something about the man......don't you think?? I'm not hating on him but......seriously, one of our embassies is under seige, calling for help and the commander in chief doesnt do anything?

when was he notified that an attack was on going?

i guess, but so you add more security in the middle of libya.  what does that do.  they still hate us, we still have no business being there, they are still going to attack us if they want, we are still exposing our soldiers to extreme risk for no reason, wehn they die we just call them heroes and no one really gives a garbage about the sanctity of their lives, our defense firms still make billions, our politicians are still for sale.  that to me is the big picture, the rest is bullshit.

Your lord and savior George W Bush had more Americans killed under his watch yet you parade around here touting somehow that 4 deaths were the four worst in American history..

What you are talking about sounds more like the mission in Afghanistan or Iraq, not Libya. After what we've seen the last 10 plus years I'm not much on nation building. I wouldn't mind leaving Afghanistan and Iraq.

This was an attack on an embassy though. The only security we keep there is through the state dept, not military. It's usually servicemen that pull the duty but it's not a military mission.

well, here are my questions to that

1. what are we doing in libya then

2. is it worth risking soldiers' lives (that question is directed to people who care about our soldiers, not the sanctity of life or support our troops crowd)

3. how much security would be needed to protect our people in the embassy from an attack in libya, what is the cost and is it worth it when we could just get the darn out for a lot less money and risk

I bet you did!

And, nobody, anywhere at all, suggested this was the "worst in history"

So in other words, rather than saying Obama deserves blame, you get to take the position that we shouldn't be there in the first place, so that way, you don't have to criticize Obama.
