You can't make this stuff up.

The seat in Louisiana's 5th Congressional District was left open when GOP Rep. Rodney Alexander resigned this summer to take a Cabinet post in GOP Gov. Bobby Jindal's administration.

Neil Riser should have been his shoe-in replacement.  Endorsed by both Gov. Jindal and the outgoing Alexander and supported by the Tea Party of Louisiana and FreedomWorks, how could he possibly lose?

Enter Vance McAllister.  He embraced his outsider status, complete with an endorsement from his close friend Phil Robertson, the patriarch of television's hit series "Duck Dynasty." McAllister ran as the more measured pragmatist, criticizing Washington gridlock and hyper-partisanship, particularly on Obama's health care law.

While he is critical of the atmosphere in Washington, he doesn't blame it exclusively on Obama. He also points a finger at House Republicans' 40-plus votes to repeal Obama's health insurance overhaul.

McAllister says Republicans should show the president respect and that the best course on health care is to work on improving Obama's signature law since he was re-elected and Democrats still control the Senate.

The election result was a 19% a$$kicking by the Duck Dynasty endorsed candidate, leaving the LA GOP scratching their heads over WTF just happened.

    Complete story by Fox News...

I don't put much weight in who duck dynasty cast members support but I would vote for someone who is more centrist than extreme.

    Doesn't matter the party either..................

I don't see the problem tho in him doing that... He is what he is...

If he is a known alais... He is a known alias...

If he is the known welcher on this site... Than he is the known welcher...

If he is a known liar... Then he is a known liar...

And if the circle jerk crew are known supporters... Then they are known supporters...

Plus they are basically the only people that try to anyone a liberal that engages them in a debate that doesn't agree with them...

    I mean what's the sense???

    Covers Knows ; )

And if they didn't, that simple meaningless phrase would have no effect...

I only announce it because you have wacko-nutjobs like bowSlit and other "usual suspects" insisting that I am liberal so I have to correct the lies he tries to spread...

    typical bowSlit alias...

starting off with trying to pin a lie against me to then try to argue against...

The "tea party" probably committed political suicide by attempting to control the entire government over one issue dear to them. The people are sick of partisanship that amounts to nothing more than saying NO to everything.

I agree that it was political suicide to march in like some militant dictatorship trying destroy the nation...

But saying no to everything to me is more a product of the inexperienced teaparty legislators not actually knowing how to work and get things done...

So instead they sat there doing nothing draining government, money, time and resource all on the tax payers tab...
And flipping out about spending and financial issues the whole time...

    Oh oh the irony

You can lead a Redneck to money, but you can't make him shut his mouth...

    12/17/2013

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The A&E channel says "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson is off the show indefinitely after condemning gays as sinners in a magazine interview.

In a statement Wednesday, A&E said it was extremely disappointed to read Robertson's comments in GQ magazine.

His beliefs are personal and don't reflect the views of A&E or the show itself, the channel said.

Robertson has been placed on an indefinite hiatus from filming the hit reality show, which follows a colorful Louisiana family that manufactures duck calls. "Duck Dynasty" has set cable ratings records for a non-fiction series.

In the interview in the January issue of GQ, Robertson put gays into the company of others who are sinners, including adulterers and swindlers.

My money is that Phil Robertson knew exactly what he was doing when he said that, and what was to follow...

After stating that homosexuality is against his religion he stated...... "However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

You wont hear that part.  I think we know why he is being targeted, and it has little to do with his comments.

Actually, he equated homosexuality with bestiality and called it a sin. I understand you agree with him but it doesn't make the comment less offensive or mean that he was singled out.

When asked what he thought was sinful, Robertson replied: "Start with guy behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men."

That is not equating homosexuality with bestiality any more than he is equating bestiality with sleeping around.

CNN agrees with you that he puts it in the same "category", but that category is quite large, and includes murder, adultery, homosexuality, drunkenness, idol worship etc. etc. etc.

    again,

    He ends his statement with:

"However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.”

So I'm a wacko nutjob because I state the obvious and measure your actions greater than your words?

Your actions are what gets you labeled a liberal. You defend far too many libs on this site and berate conservative thought.

You have beefs in here with mostly conservatives....like 9 out of 10.

If you had beefs with mostly liberals on this site then I would of course not try to label you as a liberal....I would look like a wacko nutjob if I did that.

Thankfully, for my own credibility...I am not even close to the only person on here to label you a liberal. Not even close.

i'm not sure what the hell duck dynasty is but how surprised can he be when he makes offensive comments and gets kicked off the show.  it's not like duck dynasty is on the Hee Haw channel.  this is A & E.

and i still look forward to the day when these "good christians" who want to broadcast their religion are equally or maybe even more critical of things that really affect kids and family values such as divorce and adultery rather than beting up on a small percentage of the population.  but that would require looking in the mirror and why would anyone want to do that in the process of broadcasting their religion inspired selective pseudo morality for us all to revere.
