sorry Don,  Governor Cuomo is totally wrong here.  Hes using a tragedy to advance his own political career for 2016 and make a name for himself.  Nice he wants guns banned when he lives in a mansion with 24/7/365 day protection.  He looked like a sports tout at his news conference.

now only cops and the bad guys will have guns.

Taking away guns from law abidding citizens is wrong and someday these politicians are gonna realize that.

If a person wants to kill somebody, they can find tons of ways to kill that person.  The nuts will just start building bombs and killing even more people at once.

Don, you couldnt be more wrong about this issue.  Its a shame you are letting a tragedy cloud your judgement.

100 percent wrong you are about guns

At least law abiding gun owners can choose to get the hell out of NY.

If Obama goes forward with a dictatorial power grab tomorrow things could get pretty ugly.

Just because a person owns an assault rifle, that doesnt mean they are gonna go crazy and kill people.  I know a lot of people who just like to go shoot at ranges or out on their land in the country.

These new gun laws only effect law abidding people.  If somebody is crazy and wants to go kill a bunch of people, these laws mean nothing to that person.

Those republicans who voted for this bill, they can kick their careers goodbye

But I think this shows that a GOPs support gun control laws... so to say that gun control is a democrat agenda is a lie...

To me both side are idiots so the fact that both side get it wrong does not surprises me...  when you find people that spend alot of time and energy talking about how one side is completely right and the other completely wrong and you will find the bigger idiots that keep the GOP/dem idiots in power...

Not calling names, like that ignorant R called me.. I was referring to repulsican politicians. If you voted for a repulsican, doesn't make you one.

I thought i was watching brandon lang doing one of his tout videos.

It was a total performance by a career politician who is now looking at the whitehouse.

also skipping the 3 day public input about the bill.  Who does Cuomo think he is? A dictator.

I hope some group challenges this bills passage

I thought i was watching brandon lang doing one of his tout videos.

It was a total performance by a career politician who is now looking at the whitehouse.

also skipping the 3 day public input about the bill.  Who does Cuomo think he is? A dictator.

I hope some group challenges this bills passage

Cd329, my friend you are so far off on this subject. Nobody is taking away your right to bear arms, just not hand grenades or assualt weapons. If 20 children and 6 adults are slaughtered unmecifully, shouldn't something be changed ? Shall we dig foxholes or build military style bunkers outside 50,000 schools ?

Common sense is to regulate those weapons.. I know that 78% of women and 58% of men want some kind of control.

Trust me on this..The gun control matter means the end of the Tea Party in the next election in 2 years. Guaranteed.

One question for you CD while Im on this subject.. If the good guys have assault weapons now? Why are we not stopping these slaughters ? If your answer is put soldier in every school, then why not in every church ? or public playgrounds, orlittle league ball games, public swimming pools ? where does it end ?

Your thinking just doesn't make common sense.

Don,the head of your party has a soldier at his daughters school.

Obama wants tighter gun control laws, but he does appreciate that armed Secret Service agents protect his daughters every day

"It might come in handy to have these super locks," Obama joked at Master Lock in Wisconsin, noting that he will soon have two teenage daughters.

"For now, I'm just counting on the fact that when they go to school there are men with guns with them."

I suppose you think that criminals and lunatics fully plan to abide by the law. How is that common sense?

so is it common sense to think that NRA/real gun owners and those that cherish and treasure will fully plan on giving up their guns?

The reality is that neither criminals nor non-criminals will give up their guns and will simply make everyone criminals... this is why a ban on guns will not work...

So Unless "from my cold dead hands" is simply a bluff...

The erroneous assumption that a ban on guns will result in only criminals seem completely silly...

    How is that common sense?

High state taxes, and now no guns.

Time to get out of New York.

And by the way, these types of gun laws will do nothing but appease the johnny do-gooders of the world.  Go ahead and give yourselves a nice pat on the back.  You've earned it.

The devil is in the details....."assault rifles" are semi automatic weapons.......a semi automatic weapon is any gun that can accommodate a magazine for ammunition.  That is nearly every gun on the market......except for bolt action hunting rifles.... and that is why gun rights advocates are not flexible on the assault rifle issue. Banning semi autos is huge in dissarming the american public.

Hell, even an autoloader 12 guage is considered "semi auto".  I encourage any pro gun control person to ask themselves why the government is pushing this agenda so hard...and then ask themselves why the verbage of the current proposed gun control bills are the same as in the early 90's assualt weapons ban legislation.

The language is the same because certain political interests have had disarming the American public high on their list of things to accomplish.

    Pitiful state of affairs.

Don, you are friggin clueless. You are another one of these guys who wants to use a tragedy to advance your own silly thinking.  Taking away guns, yes assault rifles from law abidding citizens, doesnt do one damn thing to stop a crazy person from getting a gun or any weapon for that matter from killing people.  Even if the whole world got rid of guns, that wouldnt stop people from killing.  Do you even have a clue how easy it is to make bombs at home that could kill tons more people.

Alcohol and cigarettes kill more people a year then guns do.  Why not get rid of both of these things and you will save tons of lives every year.

Sorry don but citizens need to be allowed to have weapons to keep the govt in check.  Once the govt can get rid of weapons, then its citizens have no way to keep our govt in check. They can say and do anything they want to us then.  This is exactly what all the politicians want, total control over all of us, so they could turn our country into a dictatorship and we cant do jack shitttttttttt.

Wake up and smell the damn coffee.

If you want to live in a bubble and be a damn sissy in life, wanting the govt to constantly protect you, then go dig and underground cave and live the rest of your life there.

Bad things happen in society, they always have and they always will, control freak politicians cant change that.

Maybe this law will finally be the wake up call for the voters to get rid of every single one of them, before they have a chance to grandfather themselves in for life.

Everytime theres a tragedy, we cant be passing laws that have an effect on law abidding citizens.

Your out to lunch don, going thru life with blinders on

Bigvern, your 100 percent right. The politicians want to get rid of all guns, so then they can have total control over all of us and there wont be a damn thing any of us can do about it, unless we want to overthrow the govt using rocks as our weapons.

1/15/2013 another sad day in NY State history.

Still no answer from you on the slaughter of 20 little children.

How do we STOP THAT ?  PLEASE ANSWER !!!!!!

Not one of you weapon monsters/advocates has answered this.

You all are the clueless and selfish too, because you and the others are always thinking about yourselves when you want more powerful weapons.. paranoid.

The gov't is not kept in check by assualt weapons and hand grenades, or it would have been overrun through the last century. Tommy guns were banned in the 1920s and 30s when Mobs guys were slaughtering police. The gov't didn't take over your property.

GET A CLUE AND MATURE WILL YA< FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, THEY ARE SLAUGHTERING OUR CHILDREN !

STOP BEING SO SELFISH AND GREEDY.
