It is funny you bring up tariffs cause that just shows you have no clue what you talking about ! Trump pulled back on the tariffs (almost immediately after - and earned the well deserved TACO nickname) and they take 2-3 months from they are put in place to they take effect ! So technically you haven’t even experienced tariffs yet (not at big scale at least - and you don’t strike me as someone running your own business which means you haven’t experienced them at all) ! And that is by design so nutcases like you can’t connect the dots of what it will do to you and what caused that - because I promise you will feel that when it hits

He can speak for himself but in the context of the larger post, it appears he's referring to detractors implications that tariffs would impact prices the day after he announced them.

So that you educate us on their take effect time of 2-3 months kind of proves his point.

But if anyone has ever told you they take effect immediately they are as clueless how tariffs work as someone portraying them as not important now ! - And I will give you it can seem counterproductive to discuss monetary policies with someone that just googled tariffs 8 months ago and never knew what it even was prior - but there isn’t a world where tariffs are ever good for you (unless you are part of the US government) ! Not one - so by that definition it is at least quick to see which side has the longer stick in that argument - when one of the side praises it like Trump just made the greatest discovery of our lifetime - and the other as a raging lunatic that destroy a lot of life’s

Anybody with good sense knows you go into negotiations demanding 25% when you would really settle for 10%. I guess we can call the UAW tacos for making demands at the bargaining table and then settling for less. Trump "shook the tree" and got their attention, all done with a purpose.

And seems like July tariff income was $29 billion so, yeah, I would say we have experienced tariffs.

29 billion is less than 100 USD pr citizen - and most of it has been absorbed by american businesses - so no - you haven’t seen nothing yet  - but we don’t have to discuss anything - if Trump doesn’t chicken out again - let’s talk again around Christmas when you have actually experienced it 

And I don’t understand what you mean with that 25-10% statement - tariffs are import taxes - Trump could set those to 1000% if he wanted (and your congress allowed him) - we have no say in your taxing policies - and when Trump took office in January there was close to no tariffs on US products in the world - so we can’t really give you a better deal than you had at the beginning
