Agree. Those HFT programs provide liquidity to the market and help keep those spreads as narrow as possible. Any intervention by the SEC to prohibit HFT and those spreads will immediately widen to insane levels. I am sure this is not exactly what the Obama administration wants. Higher spreads = higher volatility, which is not a good recipe for this ailing markets.

Hey Professor-
I've been reading this thread and figured it was about time i commented....I have thoroughly enjoyed the bickering back and forth, it's classic. I like your style and having the discipline to stick to what works "for you". Now off the betting tangent sorry....I am in the trading business as well and you peaked my interest with your talk back a few pages on your trading algorithyms. What are some of your favorite technicals you look at? I fully understand your perspective with people constantly telling you it can not be done and you cant beat the market, etc, bs etc, bs....i've been working on a system for the past 3 years and have heard the same thing from most everybody I tell about it. keep up the good work, some people will never fully understand the concept of riskings smartly a larger sum to make a smaller sum, i.e trading everyday for scalps, buying and selling 1,000 shares for $50 and selling it the next for $50.75....anyway enough rambling...I'm a believer...I finally tweaked my system to spit out 68% winners, while only having mkt exposure 49% of the time...gotta dream big right?

I developed my own math and then created a charting from the math, then an algo from the charts/math.
Enough about trading.
Thanks for all the support guys.
I have 8 more plays this week. I will release them as soon as I get the final number.
I will be traveling this weekend so I will try to stay in touch via the laptop and broadband card.

You can go 20-4 that way and be losing. I've read some of your plays and at times I do implore that type of strategy.
I don't know why people would be asking you for a system though...I think you may have lost a little credibility there (coming from someone who doesn't post here much). What system is there? With all due respect, I seriously doubt people are that stupid to email someone for a "system" when all they are doing is picking ML games --- which by no means is easier than people think.

WOW................it keeps getting better and better.
First of all.................If you doubt people are emailing me you can ask the office for verification.
Secondly.................there IS a system I use for this. Heck...I dont take a shit without a system. I am a poster child for A.D.D or OCD and other things I suppose.
This system I use for this is derived from one that I developed for horse racing. Without giving the numbers away....I will try to explain it here.....
I assign valuations (numbers) to favorites. I have a system that allows me to determine who I think is a "false-favorite".
After determining that I have a valuation-escalation system that spits out who the best of the best favorite is.
And for the record.................I really am having fun with this thread and posting and reading the posts. But the truth is that I have not lied once in this thread and I dont need to PROVE anything to the board here.
Lets let the train roll..................
When I get to 26-0 I will have won my wager. I might then either go for 30-0 for the sake of the forum or maybe try to get to 300 units regardless of the record.
