Paying for picks....

Would anyone on here ever pay for picks?? It's kinda funny how 99% of people on this site whine and complain about how BAD 

professional handicappers are. Well here's the thing: if their so BAD why don't people just FADE THEM?????

Yes I'll admit, I have paid for picks, and there are some LEGIT handicappers out there who do charge for picks.

Vegas Insiders, documented handicappers, usasportsmoderator, all those sites have very legit handicappers. What makes them legit???

They post their records 5 mins after the game starts, so that people know their records are legit. Win or Lose. 

I just don't understand why they get such a bad rep. Some of them are VERY good, far better then the handicappers on here. 

And as the old saying goes, you have to invest money to make money. 

I don't know, me personally I'd rather invest money, with someone who has a legit record, rather then take someones picks off this site,

who for all I know, could just be guessing about picks and really is a loosing bettor overall. 

I read so many of these posts here.  This is very simple:

No tout EVER wins money for the bettor.  Why?  Well there are 2 types of touts and we need to look at both....

The first is a scamdicapper.  These guys know nothing about sports, in fact "the guy" usually doesn't even exist.  It is a made up name to represent a made up resume of BS.  The model looks like this:  Get lists of previously paying customers (marks), call them and offer them 2 free games, if both win they pay for a subscription.  Then, give these marks opposite sides of the same game.  For every 4 marks you engage, you are going to have 1 that wins the first 2 games and signs up - the other 3 marks that lose one of the first two games go back in the pool and get called by someone else to enter the hamster wheel again.  They have no intention of winning, only getting cash from marks.

The second are legit (or semi legit) handicappers.  The problem - much like in the investment world of stocks - is that nobody beats the management fees.  Or in this case, the subscription fees.  It is hard enough to beat the juice, but when you have to pay for the picks on top of that, nobody wins.

Yesterday the only guy that I buy picks from had Over 9.5 in the Twins game, it was his only pick. Game ended 7-5....

That whole thing you just wrote went in one ear and out the other. So to speak, and those "subscription fees" that you're talking about....lets be realistic here, most degenerates like myself, if they are betting at least $100 on a game then they can afford to spend $300 a month for picks...and the juice that you speak of, is between -110 and -130 so yeah...

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You obviously have never paid for picks before and have never even done you're homework to see if anyone of them are actually legit. You're just quoting other people things you hear from the grapevine. 

last week the guy that I use went 7-1 on the day.....the other days? 2-3, 3-3, 3-0, 2-1, 2-2 and then 2-4....do the math. 21-14 looks to me like a WINNING week.

Okay I read through that chart....I don't use any of those guys...they suck. So regardless this is retarded. I have my way and you have yours, it still doesn't explain how I'm making $$ using there picks. But hey if you guys want to get all butt hurt then that's your problem not mine.

I am no tout sir, I just a degenerate like the rest of you, but I actually buy picks. because once in a while you might actually find a guy who knows what he's talking about. Just some food for thought. 

Did you look at the chart in the linked article?  They don't know what they are talking about either?

You are probably right, I don't know what I am talking about.  I am fairly new to all of this sports gambling stuff.

When will these jokers realize that creating a profile and instantly talking about "this great service you use" is like having the screen name "IAMATOUT". If they had any longevity they would they would slow play it. Create a profile, ingrain themselves in the community, and then drop hints about the fantastic service they have found.

"I'm just a degenerate like you guys." So fake. So forced. Reminds me of one time when two buddies and I, all underage but barely, are in this bar drinking and shooting pool. And this obviously "happy", slightly older, tried to wedge himself into our group. And he's literally saying stuff like, "We're just a few macho guys hangin' out, amirite, fellas?!" Trying to hang out and buy us drinks. And we're looking at him like, "Who the fck are you and where did you come from?"

I think I was the only one of the three of us that put two and two together but I always wondered about his endgame. Did he think we were young and impressionable and that he could get us drunk and have his way with us? Was he going to slip us mickies? Or did he simply just want to hang out. As a 20 year old I just assumed it was something nefarious but as I got older, wiser, I realized that I was just perpetuating a stereotype.
