A big part of our ability to operate, update and moderate this forum at Covers.com comes from the relationship with our advertisers. Recently those advertisers have begun to crackdown and set higher standards for content where their ads display on a daily basis. In order to appease our advertisers who are very valuable to the future growth of this forum, we need to implement some updates to the Community Forum guidelines.
We love porn and nudity just as much as you, but any images, avatars & links containing nudity or pornographic material are now banned from the forum.
Users are no longer able to post active links in threads. You can still post the URL you want users to view, but now other users will have to copy the link and paste it in the browser themselves. Don’t be lazy; it’s just one simple step.
Lastly, remember that we’re always watching what you post. We reserve the right to remove and ban any users we feel are not meeting the guidelines. We don’t want to do it, so please don’t give us a reason to.
Please take some time and review the full Community Manifesto https://www.covers.com/postingforum/forum_manifesto.aspx.
Don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.

I see what you're saying but that can be easily done by making another email address. But I think more so the ability to hide your IP, should not be allowed. You know what I'm saying because it's very simple to use an IP blocker or even an IP that is not yours

I believe my breakdown sheets threads are the only prominent examples of hyper-linking in the mains. I can only assume that the removal of hyperlinks is somehow in response to my posted work on google.drive.
Certainly links to 'pornography' is not a real concern of covers, I do not know the last time that I stumbled across an inappropriate link on the mains. Wouldn't it be a more productive solution to this problem to remove inappropriate hyperlinks on a case by case basis? The number of useful links far outweighs the inappropriate ones.
Hyperlinking is the best way to share my work - work that has benefited countless covers community members for months with no issue. Is it just a coincidence that hyperlinks were removed just a few days after my NFL sheets first appeared on the NFL main, whereas I had published daily links to similar sheets in the MLB mains since June.

I have to echo the the statements being made here. Banning hyperlinks does not make any sense. If this is to try and stop spamming then email verification and a captcha is the standard on the Internet today.
I also don't feel that implying WE are lazy (for having an issue with this) is appropriate. This is 2012 and there are certain bare minimums that a website should meet and quite honestly this shouldn't even be on the table. No offense to your developers but this is a really lazy way to achieve whatever you are trying to achieve here (it still isn't clear)

If you have to ask... you probably already know the answer.

Funniest thing is CT has the balls to talk about setting a higher standard for the advetisers, but they refuse to do anything about these SAF's!
Histrionic personality disorder. It's sad
