Anyone who thinks sports is fixed is fucking stupid.
Do you think in this world where NOTHING remains secret anymore that we could have hundreds and hundreds of athletes/coaches/etc going through the system and fix games without anything leaking?
If games were fixed, some broke-ass former coach would've written a tell-all book by now.
Truth is you bet enough and strange shit is gonna happen...it's no different than the time your 20 gets cracked at the BJ table when you've got your biggest bet of the nite out.
Dealer has 6.....11....13....16.......21. Fuck
Thats a VERY valid point ! How come NO ONE RATS ! My rebuttal is DO YOU KNOW HARD IT IS TO PROVE IT. Its usually one person passing info to another and to another and to another. They are so far removed it would be impossible to tie the athletes/refs/coaches to it . It not as drastic as them they fumbling three straight drives or a ref is calling holding and pass interference every other play or even a coach sending in the field goal unit when a team is up 21 with 10 seconds left and they are laying 23 1/2. Its subtle ! But it is happening ! And as for being a sore loser, you have it all wrong. I have had times when it went in my favor and times it went against me. Im not wet behind the ears. I know how it works. It part of the game. You just have to hope you are on the right side.,,, And btw every couple years people are investigated for these same things we are talking about. They just try to keep it under the radar as much as possible so they dont tarnish the sports !

I don’t think the outcome of every game is predetermined, but any intelligent person who has watched enough sports knows that in SOME games the ref/refs, for whatever reason, go out of their way to try and make sure one team wins and/or covers.

In the nba where scores can get jacked up so fast for easier maneuverability and the wizards can beat them heats, I can see where the fix can take place. Count how may times have the total scores been hitting for a push?
In the nfl, points are harder to come by. Even if you fix it a certain way, it still takes the athletes to complete the fix. With instant replay after each plays, it makes it harder for them players to fake their fumbles. However, there are a few coaches decision that goes against any conventional playbook. Like how about atl coaches last week in OT against them saints on 4th down and in their own territory and going for it? The risk is a field goal for the loss and the gain is a first down and it is not even a guaranteed win if you make that first down either.
Do players know about this fix? I do not think so. Players only take orders from them crooks upstairs and in them booths. Offense run qb dive in the middle, rings on over to defensive booth and say, we go dive so stack that line. Oh yeah, them Time outs buys time for the information of play books to get wire to the other team when needed it most.
It is a conspiracy, a good one at best. However, not all fix goes the way they wanted it to. Why not fix the gb games? The public sure loves gb right?
If there is a fix, it would happen at the right moment like big games. cough cough lsu/bama game. The whole world was waiting for that game and big money be flowing somewhere and somehow. It is like a pre championship game so if you are scared of a fix, lay low on them bowl games or the nfl playoffs.
The nfl is too valuable to get expose to this conspiracy. I must admit. WWF wrestling was the chit when I was growing up.....until the day they said it was fake and I can't find the scores on ESPN.

You need only to have seen the end of the TX-RI game. The Longhorns literally knocked rebounds to Rhode Island five times in a row. They didn't even make it look good, just slapping the ball to the other team.
When big money is involved there are always shenanigans going on.

Years ago I was watching a game (Jets vs. ?) Anyways. Under 30 sec. to go, and the Jets were favored by 3&half to 4 and were up by 5. The QB (Vinny i think) at their own 30 yard line turns around, a throws a bullet in Endzone for a safety. The most bizzare thing I have ever seen.
That wasn't a fix they did that so they didn't have to punt from the endzone. Got a free punt...that was strategy, see people that don't understand sports will think that is fixed but a savvy person that does know sports, although it was a very RARE play, knows it wasn't a fix....that being said I know some games in all sports are fixed.

To the OP, if you really think games are fixed, then why even bet at all? Your 2 examples are ludicrous too. Anytime it's the very end game situation and you have a 3 or more point lead and you're backed up by your own end zone, there is always the chance of the intentional safety. It's almost always the best play. In fact, if you are losing by less than a TD with just a few minutes left, The intentional safety here is also a good idea, because if you punt, the other team will start on your side of the field anyways, most of the time already in field goal range.
As for the other case of down by 8 and kick a FG, I can only assume this goes back to before the 2 point conversion. But you still see it all the time if someone is down by 10. It is always the best play to kick the FG first and go for TD second. Why coaches waste time going for the TD is ludicrous? Announcers always call them out on it.
And to nfl brosuf, there's been plenty of discussion about the ATL/NO OT game. By going for it, ATL raised their chances of winning by almost 15%. The chance they get a first down then go on to score is higher than not getting a first down PLUS winning after they punt the ball. Why don't more people go for it on 4th down? Because coaches generally coach to keep their jobs. The fact that you don't understand why they should go for it is exactly why they don't even though it will improve their odds.
It's too tough to fix the NFL. There are too many players on the field and too much risk in this day and age of an insane amount of replay.
Now college football/basketball games. That I can believe. But it would have to involve teams not in the top 50. There's too many cameras.
NBA over/under. Yeah, that I can believe too. It's easy for refs to call fouls. And only 3 refs.

most American sports are fixed...when your athletes are getting paid millions+ a year, why on earth would they give a flying fuck about results as long as they keep getting their money?
If the average wage was between $500k-$900k, they wouldn't be such greedy bastards and playing for the love of the game would be the number reason they train hard everyday.
