I have been betting Pro - football for 45 years. During these years, I have seen some strange things happen, not just plays on the field, but calls by officials, coaching boo boo's ( like needing 12 yards for a first down and throwing a 6 yard pass), but also line movements. I remember one year Seattle was playing in Oakland and Seattle was winning by 8 points and the line was Seattle - 6 points. So, Oakland tried to kick a field with a minute left to go. This FG would not win them the game, but it cover the spread... and it was a 55 field goal attempt !!!
Take for example the Thursday night game. Now the whole country knows that the Jets (even though they are not the team they were last year) are far better than the Broncos, but the Broncos won ?? The reason for this is that you can't sell hotdogs in an empty stadium, nor can you sell tickets and parking spaces. That win by Denver tightened up the AFC West. For the Jets it didn't matter, the Patriots beat them twice already anyhow, the best they can do is maybe get a wild card, if they are lucky.
The NFL is big business and they need to keep TV sponsors happy too .... The NFL wants to keep as many teams as they can in playoff hunt up to the very end of season so they can rake in the money. But if these teams would have a 5 game lead, there wouldn't be much public interest and thus no one goes to the game or watches it on TV. Sometimes look at the standings see who can afford to lose this week and bet the other team. The NFL comes up with that shit that anyone can beat anyone on any given day.. NO, THEY FIX ANY GAME ON ANY GIVEN DAY.
So, is Pro-football fixed ? Yes, you can bet on it. No pun intended !!!!!

I have discussed this topic many, many times over the years and there is so much to say about it, that many of us could write a book about it.
This subject about games being fixed is very troubling to many sports fans, because like all of us, they love sports.
Those that don't believe that certain games can be fixed or was fixed won't look into the history, evidence etc. of games being rigged; because it is too difficult for them to admit or come to the conclusion that the game that they love watching, grew up playing etc. could be or was fixed.
Those that don't believe that certain games were fixed will always come up with all the excuses about parity, anyone can win on any given night, only betters that are losers, say it's fixed etc.
But, those that have looked at the evidence , looked into the history of the industry and have many years gambling etc. They have no problem stating that certain games are fixed, but though they know this, they still are able to enjoy watching and betting on the games!
Anyway, there is absolutely no doubt that many sporting events are fixed.
I do not believe that every game is fixed, but I do believe that certain games are fixed.
It has been proven in the court of law many times in the past that games are fixed...but that is only evidence that those games were fixed BECAUSE THEY GOT CAUGHT. But, how many players, coaches, refs etc. were not caught, that we don't know about?

you want the truth?! ...well you can't handle the truth!
some people choose to believe it is, some people choose not to believe in it. what you choose to believe in; is the truth, and that's all that should matter.
my opinion. money talks, bull$#!* walks in this country.

I think it's fixed when i get a. When i win, I'm just smart.
Ive said games are definitely fixed in games where I won big money but the way I won with certain plays in the game didnt make sense by either the calls by the refs or whatever...............you dont have to lose to say a game was not on the level...............

I''ve been betting about the same number of years. In my opinion, there is no doubt that games are fixed. None. You just have to hope you are on the right side of the fix at least half the time. The problem is that the officiating has become so absolutely putrid, that it is tough telling whether the game is fixed or it is just incompetence.

Years ago I was watching a game (Jets vs. ?) Anyways. Under 30 sec. to go, and the Jets were favored by 3&half to 4 and were up by 5. The QB (Vinny i think) at their own 30 yard line turns around, a throws a bullet in Endzone for a safety. The most bizzare thing I have ever seen.

Of course it's fixed. It's a business first and foremost. Look at what happened to those Toledo players caught for point shaving. I've been watching sports for over 20 yrs and there's definitely some strange shiet that goes on and it just so happen to affect the point spread. There was a person who posted a play by play summary in the B Ball forum where like 30 points or something like that was scored in the last 2 mins of the 4th quarter to push the total over.

Lets be practical. You do anything for 45 years and you will see some crazy stuff. How much do you think you have to pay to fix a game with a player? Its not like the old days where players got paid chump change. How much does it take to bribe millionaires into throwing a game? The most practical way I suppose would be to bribe the officials ala the nba. Now that I can see as a real possibility but I doubt players and coaches can be bought nowadays.

It doesnt take a whole team to throw a game...........the only guy or guys you need is the qb & rb, thats it & then throw in the refs with the spectacular job they do................

Would you be willing to do it and risk getting thrown out of the league and lose your multimillion dollar contract????

The refs have personal feelings for and against teams. The refs are not millionaires so some place bets or use family members and have personal agendas against certain teams or players. It's hard for them not to have those types of emotions. I hate certain teams and players and if i was a ref i couldn't help but put it to them also. Now the NBA is an entirely different story. David stern has been rigging the league almost his entire tenure. The Miami Heat vs. the Dallas Mavericks series in the Shaq Wade era was 100 percent rigged and was rigged by the refs and david stern personally. The evidence is overwhelming. It's all over the internet. The NFL is corrupted by some officials personal agendas and placing bets but for the most part it's as legit as it can be i believe. I think maybe some players put money on themselves or coaches put money on their teams to win or cover but as far as the NFL owners/committee or commissioner doing it i just find that hard to believe. They are filthy wealthy i don't think they would risk destroying the reputation of their product. The NFL is the king of all sports. All other sports don't care if they get caught.

Just want to throw this out there.....Info from a friend who knows a ref personally.....Vegas wants the ref assignments to be kept secret where they are not allowed to get their assignments more than 4 weeks in advance.....Check out the stats i have broken down on some of this refs, i think that would answer your question!

So your price is 5 to 7 million dollars to throw the game.
