i believe us PHILLY fans were voted best in the NHL and most intimidating by the opposing players. just really good fans who know their hockey.

This is a joke comment  - - seriously.  I watched the first two games of the series in Toronto (was there on business) with two guys from Pittsburgh in a bar, and all they did was whine all game about the calls, though the Pens got their fair share (the phantom hooking that gave the Pens their first PP in game one to the phantom tripping on Malkin in game 3, to Hal Gill blatantly tripping Richards in Game 2, but no call, it goes on and on). 

Stop it - - all fans whine.  Some of the garbage people put up on here is comical.

NHL doesn't care whether it's Pitts or Philly who advances. God forbid the NHL "allows" Philly to advance and only has a hole slew of stars to promote to the public...Richards, Carter, Briere, etc.
 
I do agree guys like Crosby, Malkin (elite stars of the league) to get an extra call here or there, but this is nothing new, suck it up, they are the stars of the league and need, yes need, extra protection as every night they have a target on their backs.
 
With that said, I still say Pitt advances (just spoke with Betman)
 

well said, stars ALWAYS get more calls.... and do you think bettman would be upset if the 5th largest tv market passed on to the second round, hardly

dudes, just got back from work,  thanks, really enjoyed reading the narliness. and seems like the majority believes the Bettman Boys advance . now i'm going to go drop some coin on Philly baby !

for what its worth, philadelphia led all teams this season with 17.5 PIM/game while the penguins had the 13th fewest in the league.  please don't say the refs are out to get philly when it was proven over an 82 game schedule that they take the most penalties.  then you add in the fact that crosby and malkin draw a ton of penalties and you are obviously going to have more penalties on the flyers.  everyone knows crosby and malkin get some calls but thats what happens when you draw penalties on a night in night out basis in the nhl.  all stars in all leagues get calls (just look at lebron, d wade, and kobe). but these stars have gained the reputation as players who draw a lot of penalties/fouls.  what kills the flyers is the TIMING of the penalties rather than the actual penalties themselves.  if the flyers play smart they have a great chance to win the series.

pretty bad calls and noncalls though...fleury was outstanding, sure...but how often did the flyers hit the fucking post? about 28347389 times?

yeah but to go both ways crosby could have iced the game with his shot off the post in the 3rd period. the difference was fleury.  he reminded me of his performance in game 5 of the finals last year. truly outstanding effort
