2006-2007 was the second year back from the lockout (2 of the 3 seasons i am counting for ricky)

2007-2008 was the third year back from the lockout (3 of the 3 seasons i am counting for ricky )

the islanders made the playoffs because ricky got them there, i mean he did have jason blake as his leading scoring, he is a star isn't he.

Dipietro did not lead them because if im not mistaken they pulled him for dubi cause he was playing so shit...Anways what are you basing these rankings on if your're no basing them on this year. Can theodore be my #2 since he won a vezina? Dont throw a hissy fit cause someone is calling you out on your rankings, be a man and explain yourself.

yeah 79 games is tough, i didn't follow calgary that well this year, why didn't irving get start, he is in quad city isn't he. i read some scouting reports that suggested he should be good.

Irving will be good in time. That's Keenan for you he played Belfour alot in Chicago and Fuhr in St. Louis. I hope Irving pans out like Miller in Buffalo because the Sabres did the right thing in signing him to a long term contract. I see him alot being half an hour away from Buffalo. Miller signing was huge, because if he goes to free agency i think the Wings would have signed him since he is from the Michigan and played at Michigan State.

There's not much to explain. It's like pitchers in baseball. Your win/loss record is only as good as the amount of support you get.

The guy had a 2.84 GAA and .903 SV% this year. Those are nowhere near 47 wins numbers. Put him on a team that scored less and he wouldn't have won 40.

I agree wholeheartedly that Lundshit is overrated.  This is nothing new and has been "debated" in the hockey forums for years.  I think it's a case of the NY media hypeing his abilities.  Almost like the Toronto media saying that there are guys on that degenerate team worth trading for.  I really couldn't tell you who's the best goalie in the league because that all depends on the team.  i.e Brodeur being the best goalie.  Well  that's a huge myth, just ask Scott Stevens or the other top calibre defencemen they've had over the years.  You could've put "Red light" Racicot in net for Jersey and they would still win (please see Clemmenssen aka the worst goalie ever to wear goalie equipment who almost became a first ballot all-star)  See my point.  For myself, i've always wondered how a goalie like Keri Lehtonen would fare on a top 10 team.  With his size and skill, he would be in the top 10 for me.

i have always felt like Henrik Lundqvist is one of the more overated goalies in the NHL to begin with. So after reading game wrap-ups after game 2 & 3 it further drove home my point.

The game 2 wrap-up suggested Henrik was amazing and that the only reason the rangers won that game was because of his amazing goaltending. Then I read game 3 and it suggesting the Henrik had no chance on any of the goals and the reason the rangers lost was because of the piss poor performance by the defence.

The love fest the media has with this guy is sickening, when the rangers win it is because Henrik Lundqvist is an amazing goaltender who is top 3 in the league and when the rangers lose it is because the defence in front of him played horribly and he had no chance.

I just think that Henrik Lundqvist is overated and not even a top 5 goaltender in the league. His numbers benefit from playing in a system with a strong defense that keeps shots to the outside and clogs the middle preventing the cross-ice pass (which I believe is his biggest weakness, moving side to side.) I think he would have a GAA above 3 if he had to go play for a team like Buffalo or Atlanta, that doesn't play good defense.

So do you agree or disagree and if you disagree who is your most overated goalie in the NHL?

People that think Brodeur is overrated know absolutely nothing about hockey and do not even deserve to be acknowledged in these debates
