@Ringmaster316x&#xA; Very untrue - Home ice team/coach gets to make last line change after Visiting team during Face-Offs, including when Home team is in their Offensive Zone.  Visiting team puts out their 5 guys, then Home team can decide on their 5 after seeing who the Visitor lines up.  Sets up for huge line mis-matches for potentially an entire shift.&#xA;For context, in 2024-25 season, only 2 teams had a losing record at home versus 17 teams with Road records below 0.500 win % including playoff teams Tampa, Ottowa, Montreal, Carolina, and LA.&#xA;Before installing the line change rule, I would agree with your statement, but that rule change has really given Home team a big advantage, as there are on average about 50ish Face Offs in a normal NHL game.

Home ice doesn&#x27;t mean that much in hockey...unlike nba/nfl
