  Most casual fans don't realize how important special teams actually is. I really think with Tebow's heart and motor, he could really help out the Jets as far as special teams goes..He's strong and fast enough to make tackles on kickoffs as well as punts. I know it's not the most glamorous position in the world, but I bet Tebow would be willing to do it to get on the field.

dont let anyone fool you, he is given a secret chance to win this job...the jets had to want him badly.

goose - he sells TONS of jerseys. he will push sanchez. he allows Sparano to be very creative on offense

good move...and ive lived through drafting kyle brady, blair thomas, rich kotite, signing neil odonnell...shoot me

I honestly believe they got Tebow to keep him from going to the Mad Scientist, Bill Belichek. Can you imagine him on the Pats? He would have him line up in a 3-TE package, at fullback, running back, wildcat, and Qb with Brady split out (not that they'd ever throw to him or have him block...............or would they?)

I know the New York papers have skewered the Jets on this one. I won't.

Special teams?  I don't see that.  More like FB/TE/wildcat.  Has a backup QB ever played special teams?  I don't see that happening, doesn't have the body for it.

If you have a Tebow, and Sanchez is your starter, and you know Tebow can run at least, what do you do?

Don't you try and put him on the field? Tebow himself calls himself "a football player" I'm telling you, this guy could line up at multiple positions. Just putting him into Red Zone plays at qb for a couple of plays would drive DCs crazy-another thing they would have to practice against.

   I disagree Depeche..I think Tebow could play special teams as well as FB and TE..The guy does have football talent if the Jets use him correctly..As you guys stated, Tebow could be used in a variety of ways and that's his greatest asset as a player..

Hawk, I can't believe I missed your ALWAYS incomparable insight

I couldn't agree more with your assessment of why Jets wanted to keep him out of  BB 's creative arsenal Personally, I don't think TT could have landed in any better of a situation

Big Apple   crazy media mad market, great looks, impeccable image NY style winning persona (ie Namath, Jeter.....) Most importantly, bring a little God into the NY Jets lockeroom

I'll be pulling for Timmie and the Jets this campaign despite their  loudmouth, fatass obnoxious coach

TEBOW cant throw a rock in the ocean, but he has to get on the field somehow. The sad thing is, he might be more productive than Sanchez bum ass in that offense. Sporano will make him look somewhat productive just enough to keep Rex Ryan's job for a little longer.
