My personal definition of a moose is when a bet is going your way for a majority of the game and changes in the space of a few minutes.
For example:
I have the under 8.5 on a Red sox/Yankees game.
It's 2-0 up until the bottom of the 8th where the Yankees explode and tack on 7 runs.

if they only score 3 pts in a half and the game total is 40 and the final score is totaled up to 41 wouldn't you say the under was a moose or some other term? tonight s game was 17 @ hlf if it wasn't an under bad beat what was it? they had to score at least 28 more in the 2nd for it to be even on the total...just more scoring for nothing?

this would be the opposite of an un moose....yours is an ov. moose..get it?
They had 34 points by the end of 3Q and the over hit with over 10 mins left in the 4Q so it wasn't remotely close to a moose. I had over 50 on the Eagles/49ers yesterday and they had 34 by halftime and I wouldn't call that a moose either.

No, I wouldn't call it anything. Honestly, how many time have we seen it this year, particularly in the prime-time games? It happens too often imo to be called a moose, especially there's whole half to be played.

Sure, it can be your definition but I don't think that's for the majority.
For example, if the total was 200 in a NBA game, lets say they scored a combined 85 in first half but they scored 65 in the 3Q, the game was on pace for 200 so how was that a moose? How about a baseball total was 8.5 and only 2-0 by the end of 5 innings and they scored 6 in the sixth and stayed there? Was it a moose for the over or the under? That's why most would only consider the last second occurrence since there's still too much game to be played.

Hahaha!! the reason you don't call that a moose is because it should have never even been close to the total in that game. how many points did philly's offense score? 0?

I would call a moose anything where I had a higher than 95% chance of winning at any given moment and then lost. There are generally extraordinary things that happen to help.
You do have to be realistic about percentages though. Like say you had Pittsburgh ML yesterday. They stopped TB on next to last drive and gain possession, eventually losing. NOT A MOOSE.
Why? Because there was enough time to stop Pitt and get the ball back. TB didn't even need a hail mary to win.

The score was USC 14-10 with 1 sec left they called a timeout.. Then A come when a HAIL MARY by USC vs Oregon State for a TD to hit the OVER and for USC to cover 1H line when Oregon St & Under look good until last 1 sec to ruin my parlay when UCLA have ball at 4th and 15 on Oregon St 48 yrs line
