McNabb traded to the Redskins

The draft is a joke? Well, it may be somewhat of a crapshoot, but that's the nature of the beast. There are only so many teams and so many roster spots, so statistically speaking, most players will not find long-term success in the NFL. Not every player is going to work out, but if a team knows what they are doing, they can achieve sustained success by drafting well. In fact, drafting well is really the only way of winning consistently, and there are teams out there that are able to do it--the Eagles being one of them. You say that the Eagles would have been better served by obtaining proven talent they can plug-in immediately. Well, that's what the Redskins attempt to do year in and year out and what has that gotten them?  Stockpiling draft picks and having the ability to evaluate talent is a proven recipe for success.

Good quarterbacks are very few though. I think Kolb is getting thrown to the wolves here. And as a Cowboys fan I love it.

Eagles have young, speedy wideouts, and McNabb has one of the strongest arms in the league.

APPLEST, Snyder is just signing the checks these days, Bruce Allen and the Rat have taken over all personnel decisions. But believe what you want, your post is therefore moot imo... After the Skins take Okung at #4 we will know a little more about what the front office's plan is for the O-line, but if history is any guide, Shanny's O-Lines can ALL run block, and while they may not be the biggest they will be among the fastest, watch them pull and stunt other teams to death... and yes, mcNabb won't have the services of DJax or Maclin, but we still DO have a couple diamonds in the rough in Malcolm kelly and Devin Thomas who came on strong in the last 4-5 games of the season, not to mention TE Fred Davis who became the Skins go-to redzone threat during that same period.

Good move imo, the Redskins much awaited "off-season splash" has now been made...

who do the eagles now remind you of for this season?  the chiefs...why?  young qb with the starting job. rb's are slacking so passing will be top priority now like it was for chiefs last year

I don't see what is so great about Kolb where you are inclined to do this. Maybe drafting a qb who knows. Bout to see Philly take a plummet to the bottom of the NFC East I believe.

Philly obviously sees something in him, otherwise they wouldnt have taken him with their first pick a few seasons ago, and they wouldnt have pulled the trigger on this deal.

Just like the Cardinals saw something in Matt Leinart.

The fact of the matter is, the Leinart situation is not at all relevant to the Kolb situation. One has nothing to do with the other. So the Cardinals saw something in Leinart and he sucks? So what? The Colts saw something in Peyton Manning and the Chargers saw something in Phillip Rivers. We could play this game all day, pal.

Your assumption that Kolb will "prob suck it up as well" is just that, an assumption, and it doesn't prove your point.

I don't know Barkley. I see just another guy when I watch Kolb play. I guess he is one of those 'no mistakes' quarterbacks. I'm not arguing that's for sure. If anyone deserves their team to stink, it is the Eagles fan.

Your logic goes something like this:

"The Cardinals saw something in Leinart. Leinart sucks. The Eagles see something in Kolb, therefore, Kolb will suck as well."

That's just not sound logic. As I stated earlier, you could make the same logical fallacy, but in reverse, using the examples of quarterbacks who have succeeded.

"The Colts saw something in Peyton Manning. Manning is successful. The Eagles saw something in Kolb, therefore, Kolb will be successful."

Look, I never made the argument that Kolb will be a stud. What I'm saying is that Eagles had their motivations for doing what they did. They know more than we do. That was my only point.
