wrong, it is his fault. despite not converting on 3rd down, if kyle williams doesnt touch the ball, niners win the game 17-10.

Yeah he went from looking like Joe Montana the week before to Tyler Palko the next

But it does not excuse kyle williams especially letting the ball hit is knee and not recovering. That was just insanely stupid and cost SF big

Totally agree with this one. That touch in the 4th killed the niners.

if the converted some 3rd downs the would have overcome the turnovers.
There is always penalties or turnovers that you have to overcome but to go 0-13 on third down that is giving the game away.

Alex Smith did not play a great game, but he did not turn the ball over and threw two touchdowns with one legitimate receiving threat. Who the hell do you guys want him to throw to when no one is open?
Smith missed a possible touchdown to Kyle Williams and that's about it..He did not lose the game..

It was Kyle Williams fault.  49ers won all year with a great D and a so-so Alex Smith.  Same goes for today.  The D dominated this game except after two miscues on punt returns.  He should have fair caught the 1st one at the 40 with the 9ers leading 14-10 in the 4th.  For some reason he let it bounce.  Then the one in OT he should have fair caught too.  Feel bad for the kid but he belongs in the same category as Billy Cundiff today!

Smith's performance wasn't stellar, but he lead the 49ers to enough points on the board to win the game.

Williams two screw ups lead directly to 10 points for NYG.

COVER UP THE BALL!! You are taught that in pop warner, and these guys are pros making millions. You could make a case for lee evans being a bum for not covering it up after the catch in the endzone. If he hangs on,it's game over and cundiff is a non issue

There is always penalties or turnovers that you have to overcome but to go 0-13 on third down that is giving the game away.

    exactly!!! well said.

The great Eli Manning only converted 2 third downs in the second half and OT and they were after Kyle Williams muffs.  Defenses were great today and turnovers lost the game.

Can you imagine the Giants would have had only 10 pts. They would be getting lit up on these boards.

Kyle Williams will be fine. He'll be playing right field for the Rangers next year.
