Could it be because you are insane or way off base? You do know that there are 53 guys on a football team right? You do know that the colts are the only team to win the Super Bowl with a defense letting up over 100+ yards a game?

He may end up being like an Elway playing majority of his regular season career well, but not doing well in the playoffs until his last 2 seasons. He could turn this around and finish with the elites, BUT as of now he is not and his playoff record tells the story. There's no way you can argue that a qb is elite with his playoff record with as many chances as he has had. At that point you are just sounding like a hero worshipper and not someone who is giving an unbiased opinion. If he was as good as you say he is then he should have 2 or 3 championships at least by now.

Peyton is the best qb in the game right now.  He's won a superbowl against a pretty good Bears D so enough of the whining that he  sucks in the post season.  Enough of the crap that he needs to win 2 or 3.  Do you morons know how tough it is to win 1 superbowl?

Peyton Manning IS ELITE and he's the best qb in the game right now.

He's probably not going to make it to the AFC championship game AGAIN this year and hero-worshippers like sindy here will still say he is the best in the game. I'll say it again he is an excellent REGULAR season qb, but when the rubber-meets-the-road...let's face it he chokes in the big games. Here's a little stat for the hero-worshippers Brady v. Manning head-to-head record 9 wins for Brady and 4 for Manning. We'll see again this week that he's just a little shy of elite and  if you can't see that you don't have the right to call anyone a moron.

But you guys keep making excuses for him because no one has to do that for Brady, Rodgers, Brees, or hell even as bad as his brother has played I'll still stick with I'd rather have him or Big Ben as my qb in the big game because their record speaks for themselves.

Well maybe I missed the point of the thread along the way. It is titled I miss Peyton Manning. I guess you can miss Peyton, or any other player for that matter, as long as you don't confuse them as being elite. Let me get this straight you spot the guy 24 points and the other team doesn't score a point in the 1st half and he doesn't seal the deal...WHAT??? I've read stuff on here like he's the best qb of our time, he'll go down as one of the all time greats if not the greatest blah blah blah...That makes his head-to-head record with Tom Brady now..Brady 10wins Manning 4 wins. Look the dude is great for fantasy football and obviously he is a very good REGULAR season qb, but when it comes to a game you have to win, or one that counts for some kind of hardware...he usually comes up short. Time and time again I've watched this guy start getting flustered in really big games and you can almost see it in his foot work. He starts dancing around, rushing throws, begging for penalty flags and his whole body language starts to slump. You could literally see the point in the game where you knew he was losing his confidence. And everybody has a bad game, but this guy has a large sample size in big games and a very, very poor record in them...at least if he's supposed to elite. I saw an elite quarterback tonight that is for sure...he was wearing #12

Well maybe I missed the point of the thread along the way. It is titled I miss Peyton Manning. I guess you can miss Peyton, or any other player for that matter, as long as you don't confuse them as being elite. Does the throat tightening start a little early this year? Hmmm I wonder, but the original post said he had ice pumping through his veins so I guess he'll be allright...

Where were you win he beat kc twice? Where were you when he won when it was 12 degrees last week? Do you know that even though he is 4-7 in games below 30 degrees , he has a passer rating of 103+ in those games.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Peyton Manning has broken the NFL record for most yards passing in a season and helped make the Denver Broncos the highest-scoring team in league history.

Manning threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns in the first half against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday to better Drew Brees' mark of 5,476 set in 2011 with New Orleans. Manning's 5-yard TD pass to Demaryius Thomas with 13 seconds remaining in the half gave him 5,477 yards passing this season.

Denver led Oakland 31-0 at halftime.

The Broncos also broke the NFL record for points by a team in a season earlier in the second quarter when Manning threw a 63-yard TD pass to Thomas. Denver entered the game needing 18 points to eclipse New England's single-season mark of 589 set in 2007.

Last week, Manning broke Tom Brady's single-season touchdown pass record by throwing his 51st.

Sigh...he does rack up a lot of REGULAR season records, but I'm sure most sports fans would prefer for him to rack up some post season records. You know...when it counts the most
