Its the obvious. Just like thats why tom brady  and his one little white reciever always does so good in the Snow no one can see them. Racism is a word coined by communists in the early 20th century. Their purpose was to pit blacks against whites in order to destabilize the country. It's why they formed the NAACP and other organizations, and financially backed people like MLK. Without the usual suspects stirring up discontent, most people would get along just fine.

To misquote the Bard, "Racism by any other name would still be racism." If there was no racial animosity in the country to begin with, then those trying to sow division would not succeed. Dehumanizing people based on race, class, religion, sex, ability, etc has existed in every society to greater or lesser degree. And calling it something else or pretending it does not exist won't make it go away.

Having heard the other side of the issue regarding Jackson's skin color, I can see why some might take offense. For years black players in the NFL were thought to be inferior to white players when it came to playing the QB position (I'm sure this had nothing to do with race:). And now that Jackson is having a historic year and doing things that no one has done before in that position, people feel Ryan's comments diminish Jackson's accomplishments (even if they were not meant to do so). Instead of crediting Jackson's abilities the comments suggest that he is able to do what he does because his skin color (along with his dark jersey) camouflage the football, thus giving him an unfair advantage. Are people a little uptight and oversensitive about these things. Yes. But considering the history of this country. And the history of the NFL when it comes to black QBs, can you blame them?  I can't, but at the same time I don't people should be punished for things they say because someone might find it offensive. That is a ridiculous and impossible standard to have to live up to. Instead there should be open debate and discussion so people can see where others are coming from even if they don't ultimately agree.
