49ers suspend their TV analyst for stating the obvious...or was it racist?

I thought the same thing watching the game. It was hard to see the ball. Rain was a factor as well, but so was Lamar's Jersey and skin color against that ball. Is it really racist to say/think this? Or is this political correctness gone crazy?

Here is exactly what Ryan said:

"He's really good at that fake, Lamar Jackson, but when you consider his dark skin color with a dark football with a dark uniform, you could not see that thing," Ryan said on air. "I mean you literally could not see when he was in and out of the mesh point."

Nothing to see here. We live in a politically correct world. He’s technically correct. Not a racial slur by any stretch. 

The guy was just analyzing, that's his job. Sounds to me like he is really into football if he saw such an intricate part of the game and shared it with the viewers.

In this day and age we live in, yes that was "racist." 

yeah what a sad world. dude got in trouble by only stating facts...think about it from that view too..

Excellent point. I've heard Ryan on the radio. He is one of the most astute analysts out there. He goes into the nuances and subtleties of the game  (I've not hear one racist sounding comment from him) and this is what he gets.

This whole country filled with racism and haters specially on covers .

English is my 2nd language . When you go visit other countries they treat people with respect in this country is nothing but racist. Been in army for 8 years 11 bravo

This is how innocent people get persecuted . Just because there are racists in this country does not mean this man was being racist. He was stating facts, as he saw it. I am married to a black woman and have biracial kids. I have seen racism in action against them. I don't see any racism here. Just overreaction by a lot of people who are too scared to stand up for what is right.

BB, agree Dont think he was being racist but in the country we live in racism still exists , Its a judgment call was responding to jpot and about how hes tired of political correctness movement.  Half these people that are racist never visited other countries.

I know what you're saying. I'm an immigrant myself. But in other countries the racism is often hidden under a veneer of civility. France, for example. Even if your family has been there for 4 generations, they'll still look at you as an outsider. You'll never be one of them. In America, the racism, when it surfaces, it is obvious. I actually prefer that, since I know exactly where people stand.
