    an_beatupKEY INJURY REPORT!

Lions DB Avonte Maddox exits loss to Bills with foot injury

    ESPN -
Maddox's injury is yet another blow to the Lions' secondary, as star safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph remain on the reserve/PUP list, meaning they will miss at least the first four games.

The six-year veteran has been Houston's leading receiver in each of the last three seasons, eclipsing 1,000 receiving yards in each campaign. Collins' absence would be a major blow for Houston against a Cincinnati defense that forced four turnovers against Tampa Bay in Week 1 and sacked Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield four times

Joe Burrow is also having some back soreness issues approaching this Sunday game against the Texans. He'll be out on a stretcher after facing the Texans D come Sunday.

    an_beatup      KEY INJURY!

HOUSTON -- Texans star wide receiver Nico Collins was ruled out for Houston's Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a hamstring injury during a midweek practice.

    an_beatup  KEY INJURY!

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without another starter for their Week 2 game against the New England Patriots after downgrading wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to OUT with a foot injury.

The Steelers previously ruled cornerback Joey Porter Jr. out after he left Thursday's practice with a back injury

    an_beatup  INJURY update . . .

BRONCOS are expected to be without RB HARVEY this afternoon.

However they should be just fine with J.K. Dobbins pulling the load for their rushing game as he may be the better back anyway.....and of course QB Nix is a bonafide dual threat, last year averaging more per rush than HARVEY.

cool  I expect a MUCH improved performance from NIX today....Last week may have been a "one-off" bad performance.

Sean Peyton has the worst against the spread record in week 1 and 2 of any modern head coach in the NFL. I believe he is 12-25 or something stupid.

cool Well, then he's probably due for a win today! clover an_cheers

peace_5  Patriots (14 - 3 record last year; and in SB) played even with SEAHAWKS in game 1, despite being ON THE ROAD, despite Maye being picked off a very unusual/unlucky 3x in one game (only 8 all of last season) and suffering a miserable rushing game *WITHOUT* their best back, Trevyon Henderson.  They will most certainly make solid adjustments to improve those areas PLUS they get Henderson back today....and this is a home game!  With Henderson, PATS went +170 net pt differential in reg season last year, while grandpa Rodgers' team (Steelers) struggled just to get to +10......and Steelers will be *WITHOUT* their starting WR, Pittman.  Last week, the LUCKY Steelers had the advantage of playing AT HOME vs a very mediocre Falcons team that was missing their starting QB from last year (Pennix) and his backup (Tagovailoa) so had to play 3rd string Cooper Rush - who completed only 12 passes - 8 of which were "dump-offs" to his RB (only 4 to receivers!)....that's who grandpa Rodgers beat, WITH top receiver Pittman, albeit it was just a one score game decided by a pick-6.... lucky Steelers! .... but overall not impressive when considering the venue and WHO they were facing. peace_5  BoL with your bets today! clover

    daaaaa BEARS  -216 @pinn  *BB

Vikings were lucky-as-all-getout just to beat GB last week, let alone by 17 pts.  They were being VASTLY OUTPLAYED by the Packers yet somehow managed to be leading by 3 AT HOME in the middle of the 4thQ when VERY UNLUCKY DISASTER befell the Packers with 2 successive turnovers that gifted the lucky Vikings 2 very fortunate TDs late in the game.

Will that type of great fortune smile on them yet again in b-2-b games - this time on the road to a surging BEARS offense which is likely to score at least 27+ pts?!?

    Nah.

Keep in mind, while I am confident that backup CARSON WENTZ is capable to lead the Vikings offense, he lacks the dual-threat dimension that Caleb Williams brings to the table for Chicago. And he will be short half his tandem RB battery with MASON *OUT* .....that and I really doubt they get all that LUCK they got vs Packers...
