You knew it was bound to happen. Popovich giving Kerr the lowdown on that snake, Leonard

I told a friend a couple days ago that I'd be surprised if Pop and Kerr did not get together to discuss how to stop Leonard, "that drama-free superstar," as Barkley calls him (what a load of crap). Well here it is:

    https://nypost.com/2019/05/27/steve-kerr-gregg-popovich-dine-together-with-kawhi-leonard-intrigue/

I recall the Spurs making Leonard look very human in the two games they played against the Raptors.

Here is hoping Pop gave Kerr some useful intel on Leonard!

Wow thought Pop would be the bigger man than to give a coach with an unfair advantage over the entire league for years now more fkn help.

Anyways as you said if Kerr wanted to know how to lock Kawhi down all he'd need to do is watch game tape of what SAS did to him so meeting over dinner and getting the scoop doesn't even need to be made.  Plus it's all about personnel.  The Spurs personnel worked against the Raptors, the Warriors may not.

And it's irrelevant anyways you can't stop a dude who is playing like MJ in the playoffs so easily.

Big deal the Spurs slowed him down in the regular season.

Meanwhile, the Raptors shitted on the Warriors twice but I guess Nick Nurse has no clue how to stop Curry and klay, huh?

LOL. I'm sure Green, Iggy and Klay, three of the best defenders in the league, can't do what the Spurs personnel could do.

Yeah, but I didn't mean personnel in terms of discipline or talent I mean that Kawhi has no experience playing against those Spurs players but he has a ton of experience playing against that Warrior's personnel.  Also, are we really going to ignore the emotional and psychological factors of Kawhi playing his old team and failing?  Like.........its a big difference between that scenario and playing a team that Kawhi went up by 20 pts at halftime in game 1 of the 2016 WCF.

You act like this guy is Superman. Well, even Superman had his kryptonite.. And Pop is our Lex Luthor:)

BTW, Nick Nurse is a clown, and if coach Bud had not choked hard, the Raptors would be going to Milwaukee for game 7, where they would be demolished.

Everyone is acting like Kawhi is dominating and is unstoppable...Please...He's putting up good numbers but he is not putting up crazy numbers...Ala LBJ in the finals last several years...Dubs will be fine with Kawhi getting his 30 points...Its not like he's been putting up 50 a night.  Kawhi can take all his mid range jumpers as he wants...

It's not the pts totals that anyone with eyes is clamoring about.  That's why people that think KD is better than Kawhi are dreaming.  It's the fashion in which he puts those pts up.  Game 6 for example, his team is down 15 later in the 3rd and he scores and or assists on 10 of the final pts to end the qtr.  He literally initiated a 27-6 run or something like that to take the lead back.  And he has done that multiple times in this series much less the last one with the Sixers.  He is big time in big moments.  Meaning when they need it, he has the ability unlike almost every player in the league to will his team on his back and get the job done.  He did it in SA and he's doing it now.  Proving he was never a systems player and truly in unique company.

So just looking at his 30 pts as if its nothing compared to KD's 50 is a joke of a comparison.  Meanwhile, Kawhi plays full disciplined lockdown defense against the top MVP but yet you think also scoring 30 a game is paltry???  LOL.

That's exactly how I'd guard him. The Bucks were so stupid to collapse on the guy, again and again. He was obviously looking to make the pass (especially in those games where he was playing on one leg). Just lay off him and give him that jumper all day and night. No need to rush at him or send two guys at him, especially if he is gimpy. If he beats you making 20-22 footers, so be it. But he won't, because by the end of the game, after having chased Curry and Thompson around 48 minutes, he won't have any lift/legs in those jumpers.

Lol, Kawhi is shooting over 50% from the field on those jumpers, over 40% from 3.  Please, please give him those wide open jumpers especially in the 4th.    If Raptors are smart they will stick Kawhi on Draymond and if the Warriors want to run their PnR with Curry that they have destroyed teams with for the last 4 years then Kawhi gets switched on Curry and Curry will eat bricks.  Kawhi doesn't get tired.

Unlike the fake "best" players in the league, Kawhi actually plays top 3 defense on end all game long and then top 3 offense on the other end all game long.  I ask you why tf would a player with that much energy game in game out ever get tired?  He isn't Curry or Harden or KD.

Also, why are you forgetting the Raptors aren't a better defensive team than the Warriors.  They are.  They kept the Bucks under 100 a bunch of times.  Raptors in 6.

Can’t wait for the raps to win this series to see what excuses BB coms up with

He had boston large lost.  He had milwaukee large lost.  Now he has GS and will lose again.

Doesn’t even post his picks anymore because he keeps losing

Oh and Curry has put up way better numbers in the 4th quarter when it counts and led hit team to 6 straight wins...

Man, I just don't understand some of you guys.  I question whether you've ever played full-court basketball in your life.  Because people that value guys like Curry who only play HALF yes HALF the time every game over guys like Kawhi are crazy.

Just imagine how many pts Kawhi would put up if he didn't have to play focused, disciplined all-NBA defense against the opposing teams best players.

I ask, why is that so hard for some to comprehend?  1 player has to expend double the energy as the other player and yet you people still think the player who is doing more overall work is lower than the player only playing half the game.

That's why Kawhi > KD, Curry, Harden, etc

BB I gather your dislike & negative comments on the Raptors, I'm assuming they have no chance against the Warriors?an_popcorn

Mac, most of it is just fun banter. I can't lie to you, though, as a fan, this title for the Warriors (without KD) would mean everything to me. I think the Raptors are a great challenge, maybe even more than the Bucks, as they were exposed for their lack of experience. Warriors would have beaten the Bucks with ease. Now they get a veteran team, with an all-world player in his prime and at the top of his game. As a warrior fan, if you're not scared, you should be. But I think/hope that the infectious joy Curry plays with and brings to the game, the likes of which we have not seen since Magic Johnson, will triumph over the joyless, cold-blooded, machine-like excellence/precision of Leonard's brand of basketball.

Steph and Klay didn't even play in one of those games.

It's funny how the forums are full of Raptor fans now. Before the ECF, the only known Raptor fan was the People's Champ. Now there's 30 dudes talking about, "We the North."
