Top of my list is Lakers simply because Lebron knows they aren't going anywhere against a stacked Western conference and he/they (pronouns haha) already tipped their hand to me when they tanked their Cup game against the Spurs. In that Cup game they had 2 choices, win and play 3 more games ultimately against OKC or (and this is really important) lose and get a week off. They mailed it in from the jump. At some point I have to believe LBJ shuts it down to live to get some rest and fight for his new team next year AND fat Luka sees the writing on the wall and waits for the assets from the Lebron trade (if any). Reminds me of Phx last year that went into the ASB a pedestrian 26-28 but well in the mix to make a run w Durant/Booker/Beal but ended the season 10-18 SU as Durant and Beal probably knew the writing was on the wall.
Clippers close behind as I think Kawhi, much like the recent experience in ASG, will give it his max effort until he also realizes his future is better if he shuts it down. he realizes that now although I am afriad of the Ballmer influence, the League seems to owe him something for some time now. Not often you build a $2b arena and don't get a deep playoff run soon thereafter.
In the East, maybe Heat and Magic don't want to slog thru the chase and shut it down. Neither made big moves at the deadline so will probably try this Summer. Is any team more over hyped than Orlando and never live up to expectations? It took a trip to Germany to get them a signature win hehe.
While most are focused on the bottom teams tanking for draft position I want to focus on the top teams tanking for personal reasons as those sum bitches will be favored and offer some good dog opportunities.
