The Perfect Storm

This next 2 days should be interesting in the NBA with that storm coming. To start there's Hornets who have traveled all over the country and now finally come home for a bit and get ready for this ice storm after this matinee game against a team they have destroyed in both 2nd halves this year. Coming off a beatdown of Magic (that was due to Orl coming off Euro trip mind you) I can't see them playing much defense against the lowly Wiz they've punked twice, hard to get up for this game. Meanwhile, this is a completely different team for the Wiz that Hornets have not faced before. Washington will go small ball and push w Champagnie in the starting line-up. This is the starting 5 that put up 61 1st half points at Sac and 115 game. I expect them to catch Char sleeping. Hornets have shown they can go to sleep at the wheel defensively at home and after holding last 3 opponents under 100ppg I think they let go of the rope here.

I think that closed door players only mtg carries over. Knicks have lost to Philly twice this season but NY was on tail end of a b2b in both those games. Today they are coming off 2 days rest and get 2 days rest after this game so should go all out. I don't see Embiid getting the best of NY 3 times in a row.

I've got to think after only 1 asst and 38pts in loss vs Dallas, Curry realizes he can't do it all on his own and must get his mates involved. With Butler out those are 5+ assists to spread out, Draymond will get his but I'm hoping Curry will have good passes to open looks. Wolves give up a ton of assists so maybe Curry gets hot distributing.

Looks like the Curry bet will be voided. This is worth a shot, teams coming from Euro games typically have an offensive breakout game when they return home or the next game, most times by their opponent but nonetheless they end up having a good game in first few back. Coming off that home beating from Char where they only scored 97, I think this is a good spot for Orl. Plus, I follow all ref crews and Nick Buchert gets a rare chance tonight to be crew chief. Last time he was in this spot he whistled a low scoring home loss for the Spurs Dec 29. There's one thing refs do when they're stepping up (especially the ladies), lean home heavy. It's very seldom a new crew chief will have 2 away teams win and 2 home teams serve up a dud, not good for the resume.
