Hornets v Magic
The first game tonight... what stands out most to me is for Charlotte... Yes, they are young and fun to watch, and the general public will root for them because they have a young " big three" that are pure shooters. But the common theme here is " youth." To me... that will be their undoing tonight. Orlando Magic, meanwhile pushed the Cavs just last yr to a game 7 . They also have many returning players from last year with a deep squad-- with Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner still at the forefront and let's not forget them bolstering their roster with added veteran depth like Desmond Bane, who was nothing short of fantastic last game despite losing ( 34 pts and 4-6 from 3 pt range ). Also... a coach Mosley [ ORL] as previously mentioned led this team to the playoffs in 2024-25. In this league, experience is everything at this stage and adding depth and veterans that have " been there, done that" is immeasurable.
The Hornets, on the other hand, have just been building to end their long playoff drought and this is their first taste of playoff basketball. They squeaked by their first game ( albeit the biggest game at home in 10 years ] ... but tonight that all comes to an end.
