First of all I was on the Heat, so no hard feelings or whining behind my post... But wow, if you watched that game there is no way you can say they were not biased in strong favor of Miami.
The technical fouls alone were ridiculous, if you watch LeBron complained in the face of the ref at least twice and a lot worse then what Alan did. It was really sickening to watch, even though it was good for me financially.
The strange thing is I will say I do not think the NBA on a whole is a fixed league, I am sure a game or two here and there may have had a player change the outcome, but Stern, coaches, teams etc... being involved in altering a game outcome, I m sorry I do not believe that, I respect your opinion if you do.
I am not sure what I think, I just know what I saw, and I saw a gamed called very unfairly in favor or the whining Lebron and Wade Miami Heat. God forbid you get close to either one if they miss a shot.
I love winning the money, and I totally believe Heat would have won regardless as this was a big pick for me, but it was very wrong and someone should look into it...the evidence is there.

Just my opinion.
I was on the heat too and I have to agree with you that was disgusting to watch. I do have to disagree with you though when you say stern doesn't have an influence on games. Do you know that even though the heat are the most hated team in the league, they have set tv record ratings when they were in the finals? People love to watch them, whether its too root for or against them. Heat in the finals equates to millions of additional revenue for the league.

Did either of you guys notice the fouls in game 7 of Bos/Phi that were called on pierce. He fould out with 4:30 togo in the 4th. 2 of the fouls were crazy, and the offensive foul to sit him down. Really a star like pierce in a game 7 sits on a offensive charge at the top of the key..really.
I was on the heat tonight and I think Bos at best will only win one.

I don't think anybody who has been watching the NBA for longtime can say that wasn't a suspect game by the officiating.
Each time Celtics were cutting the lead with baskets a quick tech was blown. First was Garnette's delay of game after Celtics scored - there was nothing there to call. Then Rivers Tech after Celtics scored - again nothing there to call. Then Rondo's tech after yet another score cutting Miami's lead - and again in a playoff atmosphere there was nothing there to warrant a whistle let alone a tech.
Boston were not permitted to gain any momentum spite of them having a great 3rd Quarter.
It should have been closer than what the final score indicates.

Couldnt agree with the posts in here most, I think miami would have won this one anyways because they had more rest and preparation for this game.
That being said, what most people dont understand about biased officiating is the effect of calls over the course of a game. Its not just the baskets or the immediate consequence, bad calls frustrate players to the point that it tips them off their game. James and chalmers are constantly complaining to the refs but then as soon as a Celtics player whines about something its a T, it feels like you are being cheated and you cant focus on the game. On top of that, if you notice boston was aggressive to the basket but after getting hit many times and getting no whistle, they began to take more jumpshots because they felt that was their only chance.
Unfortunately it is what it is...refs have so much control in basketball and in david sterns league, thats a dangerous thing.

Gl and get that loot
Yeah, this series mirrors the same as last playoffs in this miami/boston series. Miami getting all the calls and Boston getting done by officiating.

Same thing happened when the Sixers played the Celtics. Definite points in that series when the refs helped the Celtics get over the Sixers. and is the same story each year in the NBA, are people really surprised at this point?

I really hope you are joking with this post, did u even watch the series? The sixers got the better officiating by a LARGE margin in that series.

Agree 100%. It was rather disgusting to witness, and I had the Heat as well. While I feel the Heat are the better team and would ultimately advance anyway, to watch those bogus technical fouls, among other calls, was horrendous. I've been watching the NBA for a long time, and I honestly can't recall a technical ever being called for delay of game, especially in Eastern Conference finals. And Doc getting a tech for saying, "Come on, Danny"? Ridiculous.
I knew the refereeing would favor the Heat, but the Association should at least try to make it somewhat subtle. The league can sell either team out of the west (which IMO makes that series even better to watch due to no real favoritism), but they absolutely NEED the storylines(revenue) a Heat finals would entail.

Honestly you don't think they influence games at all? Come on now, if it was that easy everyone would be millionaires by picked the "team that should win" There's a reason why Vegas always wins money

All the no calls on the other end with allen being held up but then they call that foul on allen for pulling away from wade? Then they give a technical foul to one of the classiest guys in the game for being upset at a series of calls (walking away and jumping?)

I agree as well. The only other thing I will offer as a explination is...
Sometimes as a coaching staff from one team reviews a game on film they will notice dirty thing's another teams does and bring it to the refs attention prior to the start of the game. This still doesn't explain the tech's on River's and Allen...but maybe worked as fuel for some of the other calls? Phil Jackson was famous for doing this. The Bull's would edit the tape and send it to the league.Prior to games.
Also think ref's can have a bad day jus like anyone else and unfortunatly Celtic's were on wrong side. The tech on River's and Allen were worst I seen in a while ....absolutly Ridiclous.

Referees did everything in this game to ruin the morale of Celtics. Yes, even if I admit Miami will still win this game without those calls, but watching these referees did these technical calls are one of the worst I have ever seen in the past 20 years. These referees shall be suspended for their crazy actions of calling technical foul at will.... they shall be smashed liked this computer

What's worst here out of all the techs in this game is that the league deems it neccessasry to give some aid to Miami to win against Boston. Even in last years series in the playoffs w/ Bosh Miami had help from the refs(i'm sure everybody can remember Pierce being tossed from game 1 after he caught fire).
Pretty pathetic really considering the forming of the superteam.
But ultimately it's absolutely embarrassing to be an NBA fan. I love this sport but this all makes us all look like douche bags.

Horne teams always get the calls. Boston will get the calls ln Boston. Enough with the conspiracy theories.
see, that is not good enough. No-one should be favoured just because of the venue. Are home teams so favoured in the NFL? Was Bayern Munich so favoured in the recent CL final because it was being played at Bayern?
Just f'ing call the games straight up, is it so hard to do?. It is beyond the officials in this league to call any game straight up without bias. That = corruption.

Betcrimes: That's just the way ALL SPORTS ARE. Have you ever seen a Duke basketball game? Or North Carolina at home? It is what it is. People aren't perfect. Sports isn't a science. There are human factors that go into making calls. It all evens out in the end. The crybabies need to win money and they won't be crying fix.

The human factor usually benefits the home team. To take bias out take away that. I'm watching the french open now and there are refs but there are also computers that can tell if a ball is out. That's fair as it gets. If the NBA can implement something like that, without the game taking 5 hours that'd be great.
Plus it's the NBA stars get calls, last night was excessive I agree but I'm not surprised. It's been this way for years just don't bet it if you hate it.
