SA -1.5...  Public will love this line... At first glance I thought WOW, but when you look into how good and different Portland is as a team this year, you'll be amazed...  I wouldn't be surprised to see them number 1 in the West... Picking SA at home especially since they lost their last home game seems too easy... 

 

Portland is the PLAY for me...

San Antonio won their last home game over Houston in overtime.

Really???  Oops... I thought they lost... Too late I already bet online and cant retract.... Hopefully my lack of research still pays out... I deserve to lose this...

GL- I lean more towards the Under but if the Blaze come to play you got a winner

look at the lines tomorrow.

if most of the bet % is on SA and the line stays at -1.5 without moving then go Portland.

if the line moves like it did for the Grizz today when it started at -1, -2, -3, then -4 and ultimately -.4.5... then bet Spurs

simple as that

Line movements play a role but are not everything.  If this rule worked many times, everyone would be making cash easy.  Just look at today, public had the Hawks but the line dropped from 10.5 to 7 and the Hawks dumped on the Cats.

that line drop I believe had more to do with injuries

It did but I can give you many more examples where it did not matter (Saints over Titans, Chargers over Broncos Week 5 I believe, Grizzlies against the Thunder dropped a full point in a losing effort).  You gotta cap the game first.

It's tough to win in san antonio, but you're right about portland being a good team this year. They are no joke at all. I also agree with mtbaker, no way in hell does pop wanna try to run in this game vs. this young athletic  blazer team, thats a game he knows they can't win. I believe the under is the best play here also, just my opinion though.

baker, when you say "you gotta cap first" what do you mean by that?

totally different scenario. The atlanta line moved because their best player was ruled out injured (and will be out for awhile)

the Grizz line moved for entirely different reasons. Because they wanted more public bets going to NY

The Grizz lost 3 in a row and the Knicks were on a 4 game win streak. No reason to make the Grizz thee favorite from -1, -2, -2.5, to 3.5, to -4, all the way up to -4.5

It's not like Z-bo was coming back for this game

SA at home on a Fri night, they have a strong knack for nailing tough long distance shots in that arena.

 Portland won't start as slow as they did against orlando on a b2b. Look for them to start like they did against the Clips the night before. Portland poses some real matchup problems for SA's defense with Aldridge, Wallace and their overall length --  to go with Wesley being a problem for them. Plus Portland has a penetrating point guard and penetrating PG's gives the SA defense fits

I also expect some good 2nd chance points opportunities from portland as they can rebound the heck out of the ball. When they decide to crash the boards they are amazing to watch. Look how ridiculous they made OKC and perkins/ibaka look in the 2nd half on the road in that game when portland decided to crash the boards in that 2nd half.
