I don't know why I thought of this, but it seemed like all week teams were winning wire to wire. So out of the 51 games since last Sunday I looked to see if any teams actually came back 2nd half to win and there were only 5 instances out of 51 games where a team down at half came back to win:
Warriors led 53-46 @ Nuggs, 2nd half Nuggs came back 70-40 to win 116-93
76ers led 61-58 @ Mia, Heat came back 61-48 2nd half and won 119-109
Wolves led at the half 47-41 at Philly, 76ers came back to win 115-104 outscoring Minny 74-56 in 2nd half
Pels led @ Sac 66-55 and lost 2nd half 47-62 to lose 113-117
Spurs led @ Nuggs 72-65, Nuggs came back 59-52 2nd half and won in OT
Now that got me thinking, on this last Sunday where lots of bettors are chasing their NCAAM money from last night and/or getting ready for Monday's NCAA Championship how did NBA fare? Out of 24 Sunday games last 2 season this time of year 15 teams came back to win the 2nd half. Of those, 7 won the game outright. So we went from a comeback winning % of 10% during the week leading up to this day to 30% to comeback and win outright and 63% chance the team down at half wins the 2nd half, maybe not the game but just the 2nd half. That's a significant change to me and makes sense.
It'll be interesting to see what happens today with these games as I'd imagine there are a ton of NCAA hoops bettors in here today.
