The analysis by the talking heads had everyone convinced that Boston would destroy New York.

Afterall, Boston went 4-0 against NY in the regular season and it wasnt close.

But did they really?

The knicks were awful during the regular season against good teams. The Knicks, were purely focused on developing their offensive continuity during the regular season, which takes alot longer to develop, than defense. The knicks are also not built for the regular season style basketball, when the games are alot looser.

But the BIGGEST X factor that ALL THE TALKING HEADS MISSED:

Mitchell Robinson.

He sat out almost the whole year, and the Knicks were extremely cautious with him, not bringing him back too soon because they knew.

Robinson has always been one of the top defensive impact players in the NBA the last 4 years. Was the best offensive rebounder in the game last year before he got hurt. He single handily destroyed Mobley and Allen 2 years ago, in Epic fashion.

i never saw one analyst bring this up prior to the series. even know, few mention him, or the incredible impact he has had so far.

If Robinson was not in the series, the Knicks lose both games in Boston.

I hope they don't do hack a Robinson today which shouldn't be allowed imo.  But yes, he brings a lot of energy to the team.

In Game 1, they were outscored 16–9 in the fourth quarter, leading to an overtime loss. In Game 2, they were outscored 17–9 in the final period, resulting in a one-point defeat. Boston's fourth-quarter shooting in these games has been dismal: 4-of-21 (19%) in Game 1 and 5-of-24 (21%) in Game 2 .

These patterns highlight a concerning trend for the Celtics, emphasizing the need for improved late-game performance as the series progresses.

Knicks came back from 10 point 4 th quarter deficits against the Pistons in game 3

& 7 with 2:30 against Detroit in game 6.

Shooting the rock early in the possession chucking up 3pters and giving the opponent an transition scores. Boston needs to play the half court game much better to hold leads and stop falling in love with the 3ball. Get physical , run clock, and focus on paint points a bit more. The Cavs experienced the same situation vs Pacers twice this season. Mazzulla will be fired at the end of this season if the Celtics lose this series. 100 percent.
