I mean, I always bet the full games but I don't like it anymore. The reason is because nba games take 3 hours to finish. And the thing is... most games are determined at the very end.
So you could be taking a team +6 points and then be leading 3 at the half which is great, but then the other team comes and blows out that team and you lose by 12 and lose the game. Anyone here have no patience and only bet 1st half or 2nd half only?
Even in baseball, I tend to only bet 1st 5 innings because i hate sweating the entire game. I mean, look at the NFL. Most games and spreads come down to the last play of the game. Unless one team is blowing out the other in convincing fashion, it seems like everything is in the 4th quarter in nba and nfl.
Anyone here prefer betting 1st half or 2nd half or even 1st quarters only? Yes i know you can bet them first half +3 and lose and then full game would win +6 spread for example... but don't you guys hate sweating out the entire game. Seems like spreads are always determined in the end. Its like who cares if its 25-20 lead early on since leads evaporate real fast.
I think the fastest bet one can do in the nba is 1st quarter but those are $500 limits only. 1st halfs are obviously bit higher but anyone here just have no patience for full game betting? Its like hey im taking a team -2 and at end of 1st quarter, they up 26-20 which is great. Then halftime its 52-46 which is great. Then end of 3rd quarter it gets close 76-75. Then final is like 99-101. Of course it could be 103-96 etc but it seems like when you bet for the full game... its just WAY TOO LONG.

When you bet only 1/2 of the game, every basket counts pretty much and its done in 1 hour 20 minutes usually. But when you bet full games, who cares if its 36-33 etc since there is such a long way to go and teams always make some sort of comeback.
Anyone here only bet 1st half or 1st quarters only mainly because they don't have patience to sweat 3 hours just for 1 game? I mean, you can bet roulette and know if you win or lose within 3 minutes even though that is a bad idea but it seems like betting games takes too long. I mean look at baseball... it takes 3.5 hours many games and i prefer betting 1st 5 innings b/c of this reason.

I bet full games, but I also look at 1st quarter and 1st half. I don't usually like double digit lines like MIA -10 @ Cavs. But I will definitely put in plays on the 1st qtr and 1st half. Those will probably be MIA -3 and MIA -5.

My rule of thumb has been if you like a dog alot bang them in the first half. it seems to work with home dogs this year.....thats about the only thing that has worked for me lol

Kind of have the opposite approach. Seems like to much funk happens in a short time span. I would prefer betting the whole game. I don't mind the time. Got nothing else better to do.

I started betting only halves this season and the diff is amazing......if you think you have an edge then shorten the game....don't let the team without the edge have 4 qtrs to put together a run and in that moment take the edge away......
I'm 56-12 betting 1st and 2nd halves exclusively in the past 6 weeks........yeah, I know.....unbelievable.....but I haven't lost money in the last 10 days.....have gone to bed up each night at least $300.00....it's an amazing feeling....

4 out my 5 of my last bets the teams were more than covering at half the full game spread. Ending up loosing all 4 out of 5. I almost rather be down at the half !

Well you don't necessarily have to be glued to the screen when betting on games. I think its better to bet the whole game because too many times teams will start out slow and pick it up and dominate in the 2nd half...
Of course its always frustrating when you watch a whole game and you lose it in just the last minute... But thats the way she goes... It might suck but atleast the game was exciting...
Dont bet what hurts to lose... May not be as exhilarating but it'll save you the stress and ultimately the sad story you'll end up telling over time.
