I don't follow the East as much as teams in the West, but I'd imagine both Celtics and Knicks have Pacers on their mind tomorrow when they match-up against each other on TNT. It's an outside chance, very outside, that Pacers can catch and pass the Knicks and grab 3 seed which'd mean Celtics could potentially play Pacers 2nd round in the 2/7 winners plays 3/6 winner. Cs lost the season series to Pacers and there's no hotter team in the East and I'd guess no one want to draw the Pacers in their bracket. Meanwhile, Knicks with a win here can lock up 3 seed and essentially avoid Pacers as well by keeping them in 4 seed and not risking another 2nd round exit at the Pacers hands like last season. So, all in all both Cs and Knicks benefit from a Knicks win tomorrow by avoiding Pacers in their bracket. I can see Knicks wanting to also gain some momentum and cohesion heading into the playoffs and get more reps for Brunson, also avoiding season sweep at home to Boston would be a good motivator. Seeding is weird but fun to try and guess right.
