146-114 on the year so far, +970, best NBA season i've had so far in my 8 years of playing, figured i'll start posting my thoughts on games here, see if i can help anybody out. Also love feedback and discussion, always open to others opinions and views on a game.
Bulls -3.5 at Magic
-this game was the first one that drew my attention. Yes, the magic just kept up with the heat the other night, but thats because it was the heat and ALL the teams in the nba give their all against Miami. However, the magic are still an awful team and have scrubs on that roster, counting on guys like Afflalo and Reddick to do all the scoring. With Big Baby Glen Davis out til sometime later this month, the Magic become even more offensively-challenged. Add that with a Bulls team that plays tough, physical defense, and the Magic will have a hard time to score points. Turkoglu is back, but he seems to be a shell of his former self. Even more concerning for Orlando is Jameer Nelson is a game-time decision with a bad hip. If he is out, I will make this the biggest play of the night.
76ers +4.5 at Suns
-Its tough to do, but I love the feeling of betting against your favorite team and it paying off, such as i did last night taking the 9 points on the 76ers against the Lakers. This 76er team is young and athletic, and should be able to compete with most teams in the league on most nights. The Suns dont really impress me all that much, and even though Philly is on the backend of a long road stand, I expect them to win this game outright. Lots of value on their money line tonight folks, just hoping they didnt shoot their load in LA last night.
Jazz -3 vs Twolves
-No Rubio. In Utah where the Jazz play real tough. No Mo Williams is still a problem for them, but their guards have played decent in his absence. Gordon Hayward is having a great year and look for him to be a source of offense while Mo Williams remains sidelined.
Blazers +4.5 at Raptors
-Been a believer in the Blazers all year, had them for the game last night and halftime +9.5. Portland to me is just like Philly, young, athletic, and talented. Lillard has been great so far for them, and they are improving right in front of our eyes. Raptors are not a team that deserves much respect, especially without Bargnani. I'm definitely weary of a letdown after playing at the Garden last night and having to travel into Canada, but Batum/Lillard/Aldridge/Matthews are looking to me like a unit that is gelling and meshing very well. JJ Hickson has also gone under the radar averaging 12.7/11 points/rebounds per game. Just like Philly, I believe I will be taking the points, as well as a small Money line play.
Clippers -1.5 at Warriors
-Love the Warriors this year and pretty much havent gone against them all year, but I like the Clippers to rebound after getting the streak snapped last night in Denver. Had Clippers won last night, I'd probably be on Warriors, due to motivation factor of wanting to be the team that ended their streak. With the streak over, I expect the Clippers to play fun and loose again, in a tight game but ultimately I like the Clips to pull it out towards the end.
Grizzlies -3.5 at Celtics
-Fading the old ass Celtics has paid off dividends this year, as they are a lousy 10-18 ATS. Even though the Grizzlies have slipped lately, and Boston is much better at home than on the road, i like the Grizzlies. Randolph and Gasol should have their way against the Celtics in the paint, even Doc Rivers has called his team soft. Factor in a questionable Rajon Rondo tonight, who was very ineffective in Sacramento the other night, and signs point towards a Memphis cover.
Other leans but not plays yet:
Wizards +10.5
Cavs -3
Spurs -5.5
Im not here to toot my horn about my record like a lot of these clowns, just here to give insight as well as receive your insight. No opinion is a bad opinion, and im always down to discuss ballgames. Best of luck to everyone.
