I would put Back to the Future #2

There is a 4th Pirates movie coming out anyways, so that kills the trilogy...

Crowkillers is right, there is a fourth Pirates coming out, and for that reason I will leave Pirates and Indiana Jones (thanks to the Crystal Skulls) off the list.

Here is my top five, sorry too many for top three..

Star Wars, Empire, and Return of the Jedi.  No brainer.

Godfather, Godfather 2, Godfather 3.  As bad as 3 was, the first two classics are so good they make up for the lackluster finale.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy.  Probably another no brainer, the movies were just really well done.

A Fistful of Dollars, For a few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.  Arguably some of the best westerns made.

The Death Trilogy: Amores Perros, 21 Grams, and Babel.  Not a true trilogy in the everyday sense, but a trilogy nonetheless... and very good.

Could add some more (Bourne and Matrix), but I will stop here.

I think the Alien, Aliens, and Alien3 should be in there. Granted Alien3 wasn’t that good, but Alien and Aliens were damn near perfect so it more than makes up for it.

I prefer the last 3 Star Wars flicks to the 1st 3.

Obviously, I am referring to Chapters #1 The Phantom Menace, #2 Attack of the Clones, and the best one of all....#3  Revenge of the Sith.

Better effects than the first 3 S.Wars, way more plot, and best of all, no midget teddy bears that help Han Solo overturn the Galactic Empire that are somehow able to lift huge timber high up into redwood trees that crush killer mechanical walking attack droids....It just killed all credibility with those dumb little ewoks!

All jokes aside, way more happening with the plot lines, and answered all questions that clearly weren't laid out in G.Lucases' mind yet, no matter what that egomaniac claims to had already written. He wouldn't have waited so long if he had.

Lord Of The Rings an Obvious choice for me also...

Those 3 man with no name Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns by Sergio Leone a great call also.

I would have to put Back to the Future up there

On the brighter side of triliogies there's Slap Shot and Major League, all get extremely worst as the series goes on.

I actually enjoyed mighty ducks, as far fetched as the US vs Icelands was and the entire team getting scholarships to the same school, All 3 weren't bad.

I think the Alien, Aliens, and Alien3 should be in there. Granted Alien3 wasn’t that good, but Alien and Aliens were damn near perfect so it more than makes up for it.

disagree with "Alien3 wasn’t that good" because I thought the acting was as good or better as Aliens, which was more a pure "action" movie. thought that the 4th in the series, Alien Resurrection, was below standards though.

the three Godfather movies and the 1st three Starwars (Episods 4, 5 & 6) are still the BEST ever.

I’m glad you enjoyed Alien 3. I did as well even though it was nowhere near as good as I thought it would be. However, that entire movie was a cluster fuck from the word “go.” Just have a look at some of the movie trivia at imdb.com:

if pirates of caribbean will not count since the 4th one is comning this summer. i will add bourne trilogy in my top 3.  god father does not make the list cause number 3 was so shitty. i count the trilogy as all three were 4 stars.  i can watch any of these trilogies again and again.

Godfather 3 is tough to watch. Slow and nowhere close to the 1st 2 ....

    Agree with your Alien thoughts
